Despite what had happened there in April, it was good to be back in Hogsmeade. The rebuilding efforts were moving along slowly, but steadily. A few of the more popular destinations were reopened already, which suited Rory just fine. Her birthday was on the next Monday, and Atlas had written asking to meet her at the village to celebrate. Never one to turn down presents, Rory had suggested Honeydukes, thinking that it would be open. The candy shop was one of the village’s biggest moneymakers, aside from the Three Broomsticks, which they could already see was bustling with activity from the outside. It might have been nice to get a warm butterbeer, the day had turned chilly and overcast. It had been raining steadily for days, and the sky seemed to threaten it again- but for now it was dry, the dampness only in the mud of the ground. Rory parted from Benny and Tate around lunchtime, when she’d agreed to meet Atlas. Given the few destinations available for all the Hogwarts students to spend their pocket money, the sweets shop looked busy too. Rory hoped it would clear out a little, that more people would opt to get real food rather than sweets for lunch. They also hoped the fudge counter display wasn’t completely cleared out already, they were aching for a giant wedge of the shop’s signature peanut butter fudge… Eyes peeled for the familiar lanky redhead that was her brother, Rory was taken by surprise by a little girl running up to them instead, her bright yellow rainboots splashing in the muddy puddles on the cobblestone. “Nini!” she cried. Rory intercepted Maisie, scooping her up and spinning her around. “There’s my little gremlin!” Rory proclaimed, planting an exaggerated smacking kiss on her cheek. Atlas wasn’t far behind his daughter, Rory beamed up at him. “What a surprise, I didn’t know I’d get to see my niece today too,” said they. MADE BY VEL OF GS

atlas fabian weasley Atlas still remembered how fun it was to celebrate one of his family members' birthdays on Hogwarts. He had only been at Hogwarts one more year when Rory started going to school as a first year, so sadly, he was only able to surprise his sibling with a birthday celebration at Hogwarts one time. However, the two of them still met up in the days surrounding Rory's birthday, when they would meet up in Hogsmeade. This year was no different. Though, this year, he had brought Rory another guest for their birthday. Rory hadn't seen Maisie in a while, and so Atlas thought it was a good idea to bring his daughter to Hogsmeade that day.
“There’s my little gremlin! What a surprise, I didn’t know I’d get to see my niece today too,”
Atlas had been trying to hold onto Maisie's hand as the two of them made their way into Hogwarts. Once the toddler spotted her aunt, she pulled away from her father and started running towards Rory. Maisie absolutely loved Atlas' siblings and was always excited to see either of them. Atlas smiled as Rory picked Maisie up, spinning her around. Maisie looked adorable in her yellow rain boots, her red hair put into two small buns in the back of her neck.
"Hey Ro," Atlas greeted his sibling, pulling them into a hug for as far as he could while they still held Maisie. "Happy birthday. I just had to bring her today, it has been far too long since the two of you have seen each other," he said. "And she was very excited to see you," he said, looking over at Maisie who was babbling to Rory and trying to wish them a happy birthday, her arms wrapping around Rory's neck to hug them.

Despite the glumness of the weather, the day had taken a much brighter turn. When Atlas had admitted to getting his then-girlfriend pregnant, when they were both so young to boot, Rory hadn’t known what to think- but now that Maisie was here, Rory absolutely adored her. Especially now that she had gotten a little bit older, walking and talking and all of that. Rory liked kids, but babies weren’t really their thing. They were too fragile, too needy, and honestly boring. She was looking forward to the day when Maisie was big enough to do things like climb trees or ride rollercoasters with her Nini. “Hey Ro,”“What’s up, At?” Rory greeted in kind, returning the awkward hug her brother gave her with her free arm, the other still holding Maisie tightly. Though it would take more than a little prodding for them to admit it, they had missed Atlas dearly. It was oddly lonely, being one of the few remaining Weasleys at Hogwarts now that so many of them had grown up. After this term, Remie was going to be the only one left. "Happy birthday. I just had to bring her today, it has been far too long since the two of you have seen each other. And she was very excited to see you,"“Oh I can see that!” Rory agreed, giving Maisie another squeeze as the girl looped her arms around the back of their neck, seemingly determined to not get put down just yet. “And thank you. Eighteen, now I’m an adult in the muggle world, too.” It was weird to think about, being legally an adult. Rory still felt like an overgrown kid sometimes. She offered Atlas a smile, wondering what her older brother felt about it. The older children of the family had always treated her as the baby, which she simultaneously was and was not anymore. atlas fabian weasley Atlas would be the first one to admit that he didn't expect himself to have a daughter before he finished college. He had decided to go to college after Hogwarts mostly because he didn't know yet what kind of field he wanted a career in. He didn't know what to do with his life and his future, and therefore college seemed like the best option. Getting a girl pregnant had not been one of the things he expected to happen during his time in college. The whole situation was quite unfortunate, but he was lucky that Clementine was such a good mother. And ever since the first time that he saw Maisie, he knew he would do anything for his little girl.
“What’s up, At?”
"I've been good, college is busy already though," Atlas said, college had never been so easy for him. He was simply not the studying kind of student, but he did his best. "Doing my best, I really need to graduate this year after all," he said, shrugging his shoulders. "At the same time I'm trying to see this girl a little more often," he said as he brushed a piece of his daughter's red hair from her face. Atlas was always relieved to see how happy his family members were to see Maisie. A completely different reaction from the one he got when he first told them he was going to have a child. "How have you been? How is everything going at Hogwarts?" He asked Rory.
“And thank you. Eighteen, now I’m an adult in the muggle world, too.”
Atlas smiled and nodded at his sibling. "I know, but don't worry, you'll always be the baby of the family. Not just to me I'm sure," he said. He knew that he himself wasn't much of an adult yet either, despite the fact that he was twenty-three. "Which is why I thought a candy store would be the perfect place to meet up with you to celebrate this milestone," he said, "Pick whatever you want, it's my treat today,"

"I've been good, college is busy already though,"Rory nodded, though pulled a face. She of all people didn’t understand why Atlas had elected to further his education, the younger two of the siblings had an understanding about academia. Celeste was bloody brilliant, it was abundantly clear to everyone that the eldest had the brains of the operation, off chasing her doctorate. Rory hoped both siblings going to uni wasn’t going to impose undue expectations on them. Getting through seventh year was already a slog, Rory didn’t want to commit to even more schooling- frankly, they were sick of it. They didn’t know what they would do instead, however, and the reality that they were running out of time to decide was daunting. Maybe she’d get signed by a Quidditch team, or maybe she could weasel her way into the dragon sanctuary. Rory liked the idea of working with them hands-on, without all the dreadful schooling that Celeste’s path with them had taken. "... How have you been? How is everything going at Hogwarts?”Rory shrugged with their free arm, stooping to set Maisie down, she was getting a bit big to be carried in their mind. Rory held her hand instead. “S’alright I suppose,” Rory said in a non-committal sort of way, “can’t wait to be done with it, honestly.” Of everyone in the family, Atlas would be most apt to understand her struggles with academia. "... Pick whatever you want, it's my treat today," They had stuck their tongue out at their brother when he insisted they would always be the baby, but laughed anyway. In Rory’s opinions, the upsides of being the youngest far outweighed the down- they’d been able to get away with murder as a kid, and sometimes still did. “Famous last words, Atlas,” Rory warned teasingly, “but I’ll try not to burden your wallet… Much.” She shot Atlas a devilish grin before they all went inside. Rory, still holding Maisie’s hand, led the way to the fudge case first. “Anything look good in there, gremlin?” Rory asked of their niece. MADE BY VEL OF GS

atlas fabian weasley Atlas' choice of going into further education was influenced more by the fact that he didn't know what else he might do then by his actual ambition to further his education. Maybe part of it was influenced by the fact that Brendis was doing the same thing, and going into student life together with his best friend seemed like a fun start to his future after Hogwarts. He had been lucky that Clementine decided to take up all care of their daughter, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to continue to live the life he had wanted to live while being in college. Now he was mostly able to, even if it meant that he didn't see his daughter that much. While at the same time, he knew he had to work his ass off to make sure he would pass all his exams this year. His college had already informed him that this time would be his last chance.
“S’alright I suppose, can’t wait to be done with it, honestly.”
Atlas nodded at his sibling's words, if there was anyone in their family who would understand that he believed that it was him. "Just a few more months and you'll be done," Atlas said, though he was well aware that Rory knew that. "You are probably tired of hearing this question, but do you have any idea what you wanna do after graduation?" He asked, watching as Rory carried Maisie through the store. "Nothing is also an option," He said as he shrugged.
Famous last words, Atlas, but I’ll try not to burden your wallet… Much. Anything look good in there, gremlin?”
Atlas smiled at his sibling's words, exactly the kind of thing that he could have said himself. At moments like those, Atlas was always struck by how much the two of them were actually alike each other. "Oh don't go easy on me, I said what I said. I'll just tell Brendis that it is your fault that he has to pay for next week's groceries again," he said, joking as a smile pulled around his lips, not just because of Rory's words but also her nickname for Maisie. Atlas had always found that nickname adorable, and Maisie responded to it by now. Clementine however, wasn't such a fan.
Maisie pulled at Rory's sleeve at the question, pulling her away from the fudge to the cabinet that held the chocolate frogs. "I want choco frog," Maisie said, pointing at one of the frogs on display. The little girl had always been a fan of anything with chocolate in it. "And the caramel!" She said, now pointing back at the fudge display.

"Just a few more months and you'll be done,"Rory crinkled their nose at this. Although what Atlas had said was the truth, a few more months still felt like nothing short of torture. Senioritis had bitten them, and it had bitten them hard. Besides, those months included heaps of exams and mountains of homework, none of which she was especially looking forward to. At least she did have Quidditch, and her best friends who made the arduous experience of school at least somewhat tolerable. "You are probably tired of hearing this question, but do you have any idea what you wanna do after graduation? Nothing is also an option."They snorted. While nothing could be tempting at times, Rory was at their core a restless soul. She couldn’t imagine spending her existence mooching off her parents forever. She needed to move and see and do things. “Yeah, if you want mum to have a cow,” Rory teased, rolling their eyes at Atlas before directing their attention back to the fudge case. “I figure if I don’t get scouted for a team then I might follow dad and study dragons. Maybe not the same way Celeste does though, that’s way too intense. Or maybe there’s an opening at the dragon sanctuary? That place is so cool.” She returned to scanning the rows of confections, beginning to feel the claws of her indecision sinking in. Where did one start when everything looked good? "Oh don't go easy on me, I said what I said. I'll just tell Brendis that it is your fault that he has to pay for next week's groceries again,”Rory laughed again, something told her this was a relatively common experience from how her brother described it. “Your funeral,” Rory said with a shrug, still eyeing the candies, though they looked down when Maisie blurted out what she wanted. They gave their niece’s hand a little squeeze. “Excellent choices, gremlin,” Rory complimented, looking back at the case once more. “I think I’ll start with some of the peanut butter fudge, and some fizzing whizzbies and a chocolate frog to help along Maisie’s card collection.” The girl’s eyes lit up at the prospect, Rory beamed at her.
