rohan oscar shafiq Though Rohan really enjoyed being home for the summer, it was also really nice to be back at Hogwarts. Classes had started back up a good three weeks ago, and so far, Rohan really enjoyed being a sixth year. He was one of the oldest ones in his year though, his seventeenth birthday already coming up on Friday. It was always weird to celebrate a birthday in Hogwarts, but after many years Rohan was of course used to it. Usually he and his mother would go out for dinner the Hogsmeade weekend after his birthday at the end of September, but it seemed that Hogsmeade weekends were not happening this year, or at least not in September already. It was probably for the best, and he could celebrate his birthday with the friends he had here. Over the summer, he had even made a new friend in Hogwarts. He wasn't sure what to call what was between him and the sixth year Gryffindor, but he supposed it was closest to a friendship. He ran into Estella during the summer a couple of times, and after he encountered her at King's Cross Station, he decided to reach out to her. He offered to write her if she wanted someone to talk to over the summer, and much to his surprise, she actually accepted his offer. Writing led to them meeting up a couple of times, and while Rohan was still quire unsure of how to act around her, the two of them had fun during the times that they had seen each other. The Hogwarts Library was unusually quiet for a Monday morning. Rohan always had a few free periods on Mondays, and so he had decided to sit at one of the large tables in the library. Because it was so quiet, his attention was instantly drawn to the doors when a familiar blonde girl walked into the Library, and to his surprise, actually sat next to him. "Hey Estella," he said, smiling softly at her as he pushed his Divination text book away from him. He was hoping the sixth year text book would have more information on the Sight than the ones from his former years had, but so far he hadn't found anything on it yet. |

“ Estella belonged at Hogwarts.
It had been clear to her the very first time she stepped into the Great Hall that Hogwarts was where she was meant to be. Since the first time her magic presented itself, she had felt out of place and unfit for the muggle world, like she was to different to ever fit in. And, in a way, she supposed that was true. A witch didn't really fit in with muggles.
But here, at Hogwarts, Estella belonged. She had friends and she had others like her. She fit in here, more than she had anywhere else. It had been less than a month since the term began, but Estella had loved every moment of it. As much as she didn't necessarily love the school aspect of being back at school, she loved being there.
Estella had a free period on Monday mornings that she usually spent in the Gryffindor common room or in the group commons with her friends. That week, though, Estella was on a mission, and she was looking for someone in particular.
Estella knew she was likely to find Rohan in the library that Monday, and it didn't take long after she stepped into the library for her to spot him. He was already set up at a table with books all around him, and Estella sauntered her way over to him, a smile already lighting up her features.
"Hey Estella."
"Just the guy I was looking for," Estella replied with a grin, settling into the seat beside Rohan and kicking her feet up onto the table before her. Madam Stevens-Price was probably lurking in the stacks somewhere, just waiting to get onto Estella for breaking rules or talking to loud, but for now the old bitty was nowhere to be seen.
"How's it going, hmm? Tested out of Potions yet?" Estella leaned back in her chair, until it was standing on only two legs. She had given Rohan plenty of playful jabs about how bookish and studious he was, though in truth she was astounded by his intellect. Academics weren't really her thing, but she applauded anyone who succeeded at it.

rohan oscar shafiq The Hogwarts Library was one of Rohan's fav- ourite places in the castle. Contrary to what other students might like to do on their free periods, Rohan liked to study in the library, especially when he felt like he had a lot of things to figure out. Over the summer, he hadn't gotten much wiser when it came to his Sight and how to deal with that. On the other hand, he did feel like his Sight became a little bit stronger every day, that his connection to it was still growing, living him only more and more scared. Maybe his Sight was the reason why he already knew he would be seeing Estella today, even before she joined him at the library.
"Just the guy I was looking for. How's it going, hmm? Tested out of Potions yet?"
Though he had come to know Estella over the summer, he still felt a bit flustered by her presence, he simply couldn't help it. His mother had shamelessly made fun of him when she saw her son at King's Cross Station after he had bumped into Estella. That had only made him blush even more.
"For me?" Rohan raised his eyebrows at her, surprised that she had been searching the castle for him. "What for?" He asked her, she didn't seem like the person who would care enough to ask him for help with any school work, which in his mind was the only thing she might need from him. "I've been good, how about you?" He asked her, his gaze cautiously watching her as she balanced her chair on only two legs. "Don't do that, you might fall," he said, gently pushing her chair back to the floor. He wasn't sure if it was his Sight that had told him, or if it was simply common knowledge that made him tell her to stop. "What are you talking about? I wouldn't want to test out of Potions," he said, "then I wouldn't get to go to the class anymore,"

“ "For me? What for? I've been good, how about you? Don't do that, you might fall. What are you talking about? I wouldn't want to test out of Potions, then I wouldn't get to go to the class anymore,"
"Don't be such a worrywart," Estella huffed playfully when he gently returned her chair to the floor. Still, she didn't return it to the off-kilter position she'd had it in, though her feet did remain propped up on the table before her. She still had some style, after all, and she wasn't about to compromise it for something as dumb as "safety."
Estella let out a laugh when Rohan said he wouldn't want to test out of Potions because then he wouldn't get to go to class. God, he was such a nerd sometimes. If he wasn't so charming, and hadn't been there for her when she had really needed a friend that summer, she doubted they ever would have become friends. She wasn't exactly the top of their class, after all, and all Rohan ever seemed to do was study.
"But no, I have a proposal for you," Estella continued after a moment, only after looking around to make sure Madam Stevens-Price wasn't charging down a row to chastise her for laughing as loud as she had. It was the woman's usual move, lurking about until someone broke a rule, when she'd come charging out of her hiding place with a detention slip already filled out and signed. "Think you're up for the challenge?"

Rohan decided not to comment on Estella's words. She didn't know about his Sight. Even if they saw each other quite often during the summer break, this wasn't something that they discussed, it wasn't something that would come up in a conversation easily. Besides, Rohan didn't like talking about it. He didn't quite understand it himself and didn't want people to think that he was weird, which they might if they knew about his magical ability. He wouldn't want Estella to think that he was crazy or weird. He was surprised by it himself, but he enjoyed their friendship too much for it to be ruined because of that. And so, he couldn't explain to her why he was such a worrywart.
"But no, I have a proposal for you,"
"Think you're up for the challenge?"
He watched her as a she put her feet up on the table, not even surprised that she was sitting like that in the library. He would be far too worried about being corrected by Mrs Stevens-Price. Maybe he was a bit too much of a worrywart, compared to Estella he was for sure.
One of his eyebrows shot up at her words. A proposal for him? Part of him was curious to what she was going to ask him, and the other part was of course worried and taken aback. Especially when she asked if he was up for a challenge. He wasn't quite sure if he ever was. But the part of him that was intrigued won, and so he turned towards her a bit more and then nodded. "Sure I am, what is it you need from me?"

“ "Sure I am, what is it you need from me?"
"Well, my mother and sister Eléonore is going to be in London around Christmastime, and since I'm not going home for Christmas, I'm going to be seeing her over the break," Estella started, plucking Rohan's quill from it's stand and fiddling with it.
It would be the first Christmas Estella hadn't been invited home for Christmas, but she didn't say that. The letter had arrived a few days ago from her mother, saying that she thought it would be better for the family if they had a bit of space, after the blowout fight they'd had when she visited in the summer. It was ridiculous, and Estella was unbelievably angry about it, but she had decided to get back at them for it, instead of just being mad.
"And, I was just thinking about how funny it would be if I brought a boyfriend along, just to see her face. What better way to say 'Merry Christmas' than to show up with some boyfriend she's never met, hmm?"
Perhaps Estella was being a bit brash, or spiteful, or something else. After all, her idea had been born out of nothing more than wanting to punish her family for how they treated her. It had been that way for so long, the way they looked at her and treated her magic like an illness, like something she ought to be ashamed of. It was something they had hoped she would grow out of, or something she would learn to control and keep under wraps. They hated how she had embraced it, how she loved the magical world she was a part of.
Estella bringing home a wizard boyfriend, no matter how fake, would pretty much be their worst nightmare, and that was exactly what Estella was counting on.

Christmas was so far away that Rohan hadn't even thought of it yet, and he was quite surprised when Estella brought it up. Apparently it was something that she had already been thinking about. Usually during Christmas, Rohan would go home to his mother and stepfather, who usually hosted a dinner for the whole family. He was sure that this year would be no different, though he wondered if he should invite Estella to celebrate Christmas with them, if she wasn't celebrating with anyone else. "It is nice that they come visit. Will you be celebrating Christmas with them then?" Rohan asked, not sure what else she would need from him when it came to this situation.
"And, I was just thinking about how funny it would be if I brought a boyfriend along, just to see her face. What better way to say 'Merry Christmas' than to show up with some boyfriend she's never met, hmm?"
Rohan's eyes furrowed for a second as he tried to understand the full scope of what Estella was saying. Dating wasn't something that he kept himself occupied with. After that vision that he had had a few years back, he did his best to stay away from girls as well as he could. Being so close to Estella was already quite a new thing to him, something he had to get used to. "I am sure that would be shocking to her," Rohan said, nodding a little at her. He wasn't quite sure how dating worked when one was part of a royal family, but he suspected that Estella's family would not approve of every partner that she chose. "So, who were you thinking of asking to be your boyfriend?" He asked, blinking his eyes as he looked at her.

“ "I am sure that would be shocking to her So, who were you thinking of asking to be your boyfriend?"
Estella giggled, unable to keep herself from rolling her eyes a little at Rohan. He was charming and adorable, but he could be so clueless sometimes. The answer was pretty obvious, at least to Estella, and the fact that Rohan had asked made it even more amusing.
"Well, I wouldn't have come all the way into the most boring part of the castle to talk to you if the answer to that question wasn't pretty clear," Estella replied after her bout of giggling died down. She ran a hand through her hair, mussing the already-tousled locks of blonde hair until more than a few stuck up at odd angles, curling in on itself and falling into her face. She had a habit of messing with her hair, making it look wild and unkempt no matter how many times she had been chided about it as a child.
"Come on, it'll be fun. You can get a nice meal out of it, I can at least con my mum into taking us to some fancy steakhouse in London worth more than most of those muggles make in a year, and you can give mummy dearest a nice little heart attack for me." Estella katarina

How could Rohan ever have expected that Estella would have wanted him to be her fake boyfriend? How could he have expected that she wanted to bring him, of all people, home for Christmas? She was a princess, after all. He figured she was laughing at him, that his cluelessness was the cause of her giggles. Unexpectedly to himself, he felt as if he didn’t mind so much, as the sound seemed to bring a smile to his own face. He had never had any girls taking interest in him, but at the same time, Rohan hadn’t taken much interest in girls either. He hadn’t been interested ever since he saw that vision of himself, had thought it best to stay away from them entirely. Which made this proposal even more tempting to him, as fake dating meant that he wouldn’t have to kiss Estella. Ignoring the fact that she just called his favorite place in the castle the most boring one, he looked at her as she played with her hair. “It would be fake, right?” He said, “I wouldn’t be your real boyfriend?” "Come on, it'll be fun. He enjoyed spending time with Estella, even if he had never expected that he would. He supposed that she was exaggerating about giving her mother a heart attack, and nobody would really get hurt. As long as Rohan didn’t actually fall for her and decided to kiss her. As long as that didn’t happen, they would all be fine. “Okay,” Rohan said, nodding at the princess in front of him. “I’ll do it, I’ll be your boyfriend for Christmas,” |
