HELPING HAND: AVA'S INTERN
ROLEPLAYER'S CHOICE || 17-23 || ANSEL ELGORT
The events of the last year have been hard on many, and, with the attack on Hogsmeade leaving countless people dead, it at last proved too much for Ava's previous intern. Shortly after term was ended so abruptly, Ava found the letter of resignation on her desk, and was tasked with finding a new intern before the next school year begins.
Ava searched through her seventh year students, hoping to find one with an aptitude for Astronomy and a drive for teaching and mentoring. She took in a number of applications from people outside the school, though none seemed the right fit for her until she found Ansel.
Ansel is either a former student of Ava's, having graduated in the last two years, who caught her eye, or is simply a young person with a passion for the subject Ava loves so. Ava was picky in choosing her new intern, wanting someone she can mentor as well as work with in teaching the newest generation of young astronomers. For Ansel to have made it through the application and the interview with her speaks a lot to their character and drive. A passion for astronomy is a must, as Ava passed over more than a few applicants who didn't share her love of the subject.
As one of the only other people in the castle who run on a nocturnal schedule, Ansel will be a common companion of Ava's. Perhaps their relationship is light and playful, teasing and flirtatious, or even tensely adversarial. No matter the dynamic, the two will be working closely in the months of summer to revamp the astronomy curriculum for the new year, and into the new school year. Future events for Ava will make Ansel an invaluable asset to her as both a teacher and a person.
