As a Malfoy - and the firstborn Malfoy, no less - Damari had a wide variety of families connected to him from an early age. Jared is a member of one such family. He and Damari were close at a young age, followed by their time at Hogwarts together. Both were in Slytherin house, and Jared served as a close friend and confidante to Damari, helping to nudge him towards the pureblood ideals. In their later years, Jared pushed Damari towards courting and eventually marrying vitoria jocelyn malvolio , knowing her darker ties and ambitions at the time as he became a Death Eater himself, and Damari trusted Jared's advice and did so. Now, Damari and Vitoria have divorced, with the truth being revealed. Damari, as a result, doesn't trust Jared as much as he once did, wondering if everyone in his life played him for his name and influence. Jared is not happy that the marriage fell through, upset with Vitoria's noble streak but intends to deal with that separately. Instead, a more pressing concern is that Damari was seeing a woman of low magical birth, anastasia dior illoive , potentially ruining his name in the process. With them split, he is intent on getting Damari back into a pureblooded relationship to preserve his name and image.

Jamie sees this as an opportunity to still get everything she's always wanted, and intends to put herself in Damari's path to get it. Damari, wary because of how Vitoria once used him, however, had already entered into another relationship with anastasia dior illoive and he was incredibly happy with her. Now that they have also split, there's a new opportunity for her to get everything she's ever wanted, if she plays her cards right.

As a close family friend of the Malfoys, Jake served practically as an uncle to Damari when he was young, praising him and subtly enforcing pureblood elitist traits into the young boy. Jake intended for Damari to essentially take his place - to become a Death Eater, hopefully pulled by vitoria jocelyn malvolio before she developed a conscience. Jake got Damari his Auror job, but Damari doesn't know that, and Jake feels like he is to credit for everything Damari became. Well, at least he wants credit up until the divorce. Jake is the only person remaining out of this group that Damari still trusts - and it is because Jake wears his masks well. When Damari told Jake about anastasia dior illoive , Jake was absolutely disgusted, and intends to show him that she is no match for him. Now that they've split, Damari is vulnerable, and it's the perfect opportunity for Jake to take advantage of, sowing the seeds of pureblood ideals deep into Damari once more.
