There was a new baby Fawn in the world and, though Jonas had not yet met the healthy little girl, he knew already that he would do anything for her.
Jonas had been waiting (admittedly impatiently) in the waiting room of St. Mungo's since he'd received Felix's patronus message that Sephie had gone into labor, pacing the long room and doing whatever he could to stay busy. He'd stacked and reorganized the pile of dated Witch Weeklys on the side table easily a dozen times and had walked probably a kilometer in laps around the waiting room. Anna Elise was with her mother for the weekend, and Jonas had nowhere else he would rather be.
But, at last, Felix entered, a wide smile stretching his face as he told Jonas that he was, once again, a father. A beautiful baby girl, welcomed into the new world left in the wake of Death's downfall. It seemed a fitting start to the new era.
It didn't take long for Jonas to make his way through the corridor and to Sephie's room, though he lingered in the doorway for a long moment. It was a touching sight, a quiet moment between mother and child. Even after so many hours of what was surely hard work and pain, Sephie looked as beautiful as ever.
At long last, though, Jonas knocked on the doorframe, stepping into the room and moving to the bed so that he could peer into the little pink bundle nestled in his lover's arms.
"Merlin, Seph, she's beautiful," He breathed, grin splitting his face in two. No matter how many times he was witness to something as joyous as welcoming a child into the world, he would forever be in awe of it. Especially when it involved people he held so close to his heart.
