Ransom was friends with both Tristan and Trinity - he had to remind himself of that constantly as he made his way to the party that the pair were throwing together. This didn't have to be weird.Except, it was weird.Ransom had begun to love Trinity. What had started as a casual fling between the two of them had grown into a genuine friendship, and that had Ransom catching feelings that he didn't know what to do with. He'd never come forward with those feelings, had never told Trinity how he'd felt - mostly because she'd started seeing Tristan. Ransom was plenty of things, but he wasn't a homewrecker. They seemed genuinely happy with one another, and Ransom cared more for his friendship with Trinity and with Tristan than anything else.Still... he knew how Tristan was. Jealous was the wrong word, but it was the closest that he'd been able to come up with as he racked his brain for something better. There wasn't any telling how Tristan had taken the news that he and Trinity had been actively sleeping together, probably while he'd been busy trying to date her.Either way... it was all awkward as hell.Ransom entered the party, ensuring that he greeted Trinity and Tristan at the same time. He'd hugged the both of them, careful not to linger too hard with Trin... but, regardless, he felt Tristan's eyes on him.Eventually, the pair had ended up alone, drinking beer and talking Quidditch."So," Ransom said, deciding to be brave enough to test the waters. "How are things with Trin? Good, I hope. You guys have been dating... what... a few months now?" |

tristan adrien slade The past months had been absolute bliss to Tristan. When he first tarted dating Trinity last December, he knew that he liked her, he didn't seem to be able to stay away from her for that matter. But he didn't know that their relationship was going to mean so much to him in such a quick period of time. People told him all the time now that he seemed to be foolishly in love with Trinity, and while he didn't like to admit it, he was afraid that was the case. In a way, he seemed to be a lot calmer now, not constantly trying to prove himself to everyone the way that he did before he met Trin. That didn't mean however, that he wasn't still trying to prove himself in some instances. Like that evening.
A couple of weeks ago, it had been Trinity's birthday, and Tristan had taken it upon himself to throw her a belated birthday party at his apartment. For him, it seemed to be an opportunity for him to impress her, but also to impress many of her friends who he hadn't met before. However, some of Trinity's friends he had met before, some of them he even worked with. Tristan had tried his best to act normal towards Ransom even after Trinity told him that they had been more than friends at some point, but he knew he wasn't doing a very good job of it.
"So, how are things with Trin? Good, I hope. You guys have been dating... what... a few months now?"
When Ransom arrived and greeted the two of them, Tristan was hoping that Trin wouldn't leave him. But of course, she was easily distracted by some of her other friends, and left Ransom and Tristan on their own. Talking to Ransom about Quidditch was easy enough, though admittedly not a very high quality conversation. It was when Ransom changed the subject, that Tristan gripped onto his bottle a little tighter. "Since December, yeah," Tristan nodded, taking a sip of his beer to give himself a little more time to come up with an appropriate answer. "It's been great. We are both busy with work of course, but we see each other as often as we can. It has been amazing really," he said, not meaning to hurt Ransom by using a word like that, but at the same time wanting Ransom to know how serious things were between him and Trinity.
