Archie was going to ask Lenora to marry him.
It was something that they had talked about at length, something that they knew was an inevitability, but Archie had made the decision that he was going to buy a ring that week. He'd already been crafting the perfect proposal, though nothing was sitting right with him. How was he supposed to make it a memorable moment, something special specifically for Lenora? All he knew was that he wanted a non-traditional ring to give to her, and that he was 99.99% certain that she was going to say yes. Past that, he had nothing - no location, no clever date plan.
But, he knew someone that could help him with all of that.
Archie was immensely grateful that, after everything that had transpired, that Chloé was still his best friend. They'd had their fling, had given dating each other a try, and that could have proven disastrous for their friendship. Thankfully, it hadn't, and they were better off for their history together. Chloé and Lenora had even gotten close, though Archie knew it hadn't been easy for either of them.
Loving the same person was difficult, even if that love manifested in different ways. He was just grateful that they had finally come around.
Archie had asked Chloé to meet him at Madame Puddifoot's for tea, and was seated at their usual booth in the corner. When she arrived, Archie stood up, beaming, to give her a hug.
"Hey, good to see you, thanks for coming. How've you been?" Archie asked, settling back into his seat. His hands cupped around the teacup settled on the table, comforted by the gentle warm emanating from the porcelain.

chloé juliette weasley Chloé was happy that despite everything, she and Archie were still the best of friends. There had been many instances in which they could have ruined their friendship, but like after they broke off their short fling. But they were still going strong, and despite Chloé's frequent tours with the Magical Ballet Company that she was still a part of, they still saw each other a lot. Not too long ago, Chloé had officially moved in with Luca, after a little over a year of dating, and of course Archie and Lenora were the first people she had invited over for a dinner party at her new place. While in the beginning, her relationship with Lenora had been a little tense, given that Chloé and Archie's fling had occurred when she left Hogwarts for a year, the last two years Chloé had become friends with Lenora. They even met up with the two of them every once in a while, going out for lunch or a drink. Chloé had just gotten back from a two month-long tour dancing the ballet piece of Giselle in Europe when she got Archie's message, asking her to meet him at Madame Puddifoot's for tea. It had been a place they frequently visited when they were still in Hogwarts, and had become their regular spot after it was rebuilt. "Hey, good to see you, thanks for coming. How've you been?"
Chloé beamed back at Archie as she arrived and returned his hug. She sat down across the table from him, ordering a cup of tea for herself as the waitress came to their table, before turning to answer Archie's question. "I've been great, tour was amazing." She said. Chloé had made the promotion from Apprentice to the Corps de Ballet last fall, and had been dancing in every ballet the company put up ever since. "And I was very excited to see your invitation when I came home. What about you? How have you been?" She asked him, turning shortly to the waitress to mutter a thanks when she put her tea down on the table.

❝ | Archie was grateful that Chloé had stuck beside him, even after everything. There had been a time in his life where he'd been certain that he could've loved her romantically - their fling had been proof enough of that, though they'd never really talked about their feelings. It had been all physical, and that had been just fine for the two of them. They'd been young, desperate to find themselves, and had sought comfort in each others arms.It was almost funny to think back on how do-or-die everything had felt back then, back when he'd been so desperate to forget about Lenora, and when Chloé had been annoyed at Luca during her first few months at the ballet. Now, they were happy, successful in both their relationships and their careers."I've been great, tour was amazing. And I was very excited to see your invitation when I came home. What about you? How have you been?""I'm still so sad I couldn't get the time off of work to go see you. Next time for sure, the hospital's just been so busy," Archie replied. "I've been good though! Just working a lot. Lenora and I have talked a little about getting a house, but I don't know if that'll happen anytime soon. We want to pay for it ourselves, but her parents are insisting they help... not that we don't want it, but... y'know how it is," he replied, shrugging."How's Luca?" |

chloé juliette weasley Those few months after they had just graduated had been some odd ones. Chloé had started at the ballet and had been terribly insecure about whether or not that was the right choice. She felt as if she didn't quite belong there at the time, partly because she kept being told that she wasn't good enough. Archie had been a comfort, he had been that person for her all through Hogwarts. It had been fun, figuring out all those new things about their relationship, and what was between them. But it was even better when they had decided that it wasn't what they wanted in their friendship. Even after all that, Archie was still the one she looked most forward to seeing after returning from tour.
"I'm still so sad I couldn't get the time off of work to go see you. Next time for sure, the hospital's just been so busy."
"Oh, don't be silly," Chloé shook her head at him, picking up the pot to feel her tea cup. "Your work at the hospital is so much more important. How is everything going there? They must be so happy to have you." Chloé said. "Besides, we should be doing a show in London soon enough, and I'll get you and Lenora an invitation for sure," She said, wrapping her hands around her warm tea cup.
"I've been good though! Just working a lot. Lenora and I have talked a little about getting a house, but I don't know if that'll happen anytime soon. We want to pay for it ourselves, but her parents are insisting they help... not that we don't want it, but... y'know how it is,"
"That is so exciting," Chloé said, her eyes lighting up at the thought of it. They were really growing up then, weren't they? Living with their partners, buying houses, making careers for themselves. "I get it, Arch," she said when he mentioned that Lenora's parents wanted to help them buy the house. "But, it won't make the place any less yours if you do decide to have them help out. I am definitely curious to see what you end up with. What kind of thing are you looking for?" Chloé asked him.
"How's Luca?"
"Soaking in good reviews for Giselle," Chloé said, laughing. "It's not that I don't understand, he was amazing. Hard to keep my eyes off him while I was dancing in the Corps," she said, a soft blush colouring her cheeks. "Yeah, things have been good between us," she said, shrugging her shoulders as the smile still lay on her lips. "What about Lenora? How has she been?"
