Finally.
The power that thrummed through Death was like that of the embrace of an old and trusted friend, a piece of the entity that had not existed for centuries. It had taken a moment to relish in its own glory, the essence of the Hallows fully absorbed into itself.
The three objects were no more - there was only Death at the height of its power and influence.
Now was the time to go to work.
Following the trail to where the bulk of its followers were was not difficult. It took Death to a manor, a party in full swing inside. The world seemed to have a twisted sense of humor, as it could see the lavish vampire within step forward from the outside. Death’s child welcomed his guests with a flourish that Death, admittedly, thought to be far too ostentatious - though that was neither here nor there.
The welcome, it seemed, was a trap. Death made a note to congratulate the child that had orchestrated the event - it could sense many mortals inside, though two of the four that had been present during the ritual were within the manor’s walls. Death floated in the darkness, murmuring to itself.
There was a single pop in the air moments later, punctuated by more closely linked. Soon, the field that it stood in was flooded with the bodies of its children, those loyal to it that were not in attendance. The full force of Death’s army stood either beside their master, or within the walls of the building. Fire roared to life at each exit, blocking those within from leaving.
And so, Death took the opportunity to make things worse.
“Catch those that escape. No one makes it out alive,” it informed the followers waiting on the lawn of the manor. It disappeared in a cloud of fog, rolling towards the building with a force that blew out the windows. The room darkened once more, with even those loyal to it within taking a moment of pause.
Death reformed, towering over the room. The panic rose to a crescendo at the sight of it, though its followers within took a moment to address Death with reverence - some kneeling, some bowing their heads in respect.
“How convenient - you’ve done well, my child,” Death complimented, attention on the patron of the party. “Impeccable timing. You will be rewarded handsomely for gathering my enemies in a single location.”
“Those loyal to me shall be spared from my wrath. If you have not pledged yourself to me - you will die,” Death spoke, icy voice booming within the walls of the manor.
“Leave no survivors. Raize London to the ground. Tonight, we take back the world for ourselves.”
