She was seventeen and he was nineteen, both rather freshly out of school. They quickly got married and tried to settle into a life together, but it was tumultuous even before Luciano was born. The couple was broke and Tommaso drank too much, so fighting was common, but the two of them really did try to love each other and their little boy. Luciano, or Luc as he quickly became known, doesn’t remember much of the early days, just little bits here and there. When he was six, his mother was killed in a freak accident while on her way home from work. Tommaso was devastated and so the whole thing was not well explained to little Luc, who found himself suddenly home alone for long stretches of time while his father was out making funeral arrangements or drinking. After a few weeks, Tommaso came to a difficult decision- unable to properly care for Luc himself, he decided to put the boy up for adoption. On the surface, the Velasquez’s perhaps weren’t the obvious match for little, magical, Luc. But having a magical son themselves and hearing Luc’s story, they decided to take him in. Luc thrived with the large family, quickly becoming close with his siblings and looking up especially to Camilo as he went off to Hogwarts. Four years younger, Luciano had to wait his turn, but finally made it to the magical school where he was promptly sorted into Gryffindor. Luciano’s school days were enjoyable, finding it easy to make friends and loving his classes, even the ones he did poorly in. Towards the end of his time at Hogwarts, things were starting to take a turn for the darker, but they only grew worse after Luc’s graduation. Coming home from work late one night, he was attacked by a werewolf who didn’t have control of their mind. Luc wasn’t too badly injured, but was Turned afterward, becoming a werewolf himself. He never really blamed the other werewolf, though he has yet to figure out who they are. But the whole experience ushered in an entirely new phase of Luciano’s life. Always one to let things roll off him, Luc found that this was something he couldn’t really shake. There was always someone after him or someone who thought he didn’t belong with everyone else. Thankfully, being a werewolf also came with some bonuses, as Luciano found a pack to integrate into. He’s now managing his life as best he can, still trying to see the positives in everything.
