biography Misha Arden Nichols was born Mikhailo Artemevich Shevchuk, the only child of Artem and Faye Shevchuk. Artem Sheychuk was a rich businessman that had made his fortune in his home country of Ukraine before immigrating to London. It was there that four years later he would meet Faye Mulder. Within the year they were married and, a year and a half later, they welcome their first and (as it would turn out) only child. Faye's pregnancy was a long and arduous one, full of health problems and moments where both she and Artem were sure she would miscarry. Though in the end Mikhailo was born, a healthy and happy baby boy with flaming auburn hair, the health problems that plagued his mother would persist for the rest of her days. Faye passed away when Mikhailo was just shy of three months old. Artem never fully recovered from the loss of his wife, and it would take him many years before he could love again. He was an absent father at best, a neglectful one at worst. Mikhailo was raised on the spacious Shevchuk estate outside Manchester, passed between a handful of nannies and governesses until he was old enough to attend school. At Hogwarts Mikhailo was sorted into Hufflepuff. He found his clique easily, falling in line with the other fun-loving spirits of the badger's house. His grades were never spectacular, but he was a well-liked student who had a gaggle of friends following him around by his second year. It was just after Mikhailo's seventh year, however, that things began changing at home. His father met Eleanor Bennett, a powerful vampiress with whom he fell head over heels for. Eleanor was no Faye, was not the love his life, but she was the first woman Artem had fallen for since the death of his wife. He was infatuated with her, pulled in by her Charm, and Eleanor was a fixture at the Shevchuk estate by the time Mikhailo returned to the estate. Immediately, Mikhailo took a dislike to Eleanor. She was a beautiful, powerful vampiress as well as a part-veela, a gorgeous woman that had the world at her feet. He was just as infatuated with Eleanor as his father was, but without the flashy estate and the luxury of a fortune to catch her eye. Jealousy grew in Mikhailo, though it turned to something bordering on hatred when his father announced he was changing his will and leaving everything to Eleanor, instead of his only son and rightful heir. This beautiful woman had everything now, had Artem and the family fortune, and Mikhailo was left with nothing. Mikhailo was further gutted when his father passed unexpectedly eight months later. Suddenly, Mikhailo was an orphan, both parents dead, and he was without the fortune he had always counted on to boot. Everything had gone to Eleanor, and Mikhailo was left with nothing. Almost nothing, anyway. Mikhailo had always had his suspicions about Eleanor's motives, and after the shock of his father's death wore off, the truth became clear to him. He had no proof, but reckless as the young man was, he didn't feel he needed it. He could threaten Eleanor with going to the Ministry, threaten to tell them she had killed Artem, and he could regain the fortune that was rightfully his. But Eleanor was more powerful than him, with the gifts of her vampirism and her Charm at her disposal. Mikhailo was easily overpowered, and to keep the boy quiet, Eleanor Turned him and forbade him from ever speaking about what he thought he knew. Mikhailo fled the country not long after being Turned. There was nothing to keep him in England, even if he had wanted to. He went as far as nearly fleeing the continent, spending a the next decades in Ukraine, his fatherland, far away from the woman he had been so enraptured by and who had murdered his father then Turned him into the same monster she was. Time, however, is able to heal even the deepest of wounds. In Ukraine, with the aid of a few friends he had made along the way, Mikhailo came to terms with what he now was and what had happened. His vampirism was a part of him now, a part he could not escape and a part that would always be tied to Eleanor. It was only after Mikhailo had left the Ukraine, spending some time in Israel, that Mikhailo changed his name, dropping the surname of Shevchuk and donning whatever name suited him best. It wouldn't be until the 1920's that he came to terms with his identity, renaming himself Misha and donning the pronouns that fit them best. It was in the same decade that Mikhailo, shirking his old identity entirely and forging a new one as Misha Nichols, returned to England at last. Even to this day, they aren't sure what compelled them to return to his home country. Maybe it was the pull of his lasting connection with Eleanor, or maybe it was just a desire to be home again. He couldn't say. Gone was the Shevchuk estate, though what happened to it, Misha couldn't say. London had changed, but not in any of the ways it counted. It was home to them, even after so long. In London, the pull of Misha's bond with Eleanor was much harder to ignore. It didn't take long for them to be pulled back into her grasp, his infatuation with her just as strong as it had been almost a century ago. Though initially their relationship was strained to say the least, after some time the anger Misha held for his sire faded, replaced with neutrality and then, as it is now, adoration for the vampiress. Misha fell into the ranks of Khun Mae Choen-Blum's coven and has never looked back. They formed a life in London, getting a job and, decades later, becoming an apprentice to a powerful alchemist. When Death rose to power and called his children to him, Misha followed their coven into his ranks. As war rages around them, Misha has been swept into the tide, keeping his head above water and waiting for the day Death reigns supreme.
