i wear heels bigger than your dick ❝ There was vengeance to be had. She’d left her message to Piper, and had left the woman’s former intern alive - for now. Since Killian had lived, despite efforts otherwise, Esmeray was content to let her targets also live. But the temptation to take Raphael’s memories of Piper away had gripped her. Let the woman feel the pain that Es had endured for nearly a year. Let her feel the acute ache that always built after losing someone so close to them - but not quite losing them completely.
It was an unmatched pain. Arguably worse than actually losing someone. With that, at least, people could heal and move on. Death was not easy to handle, but it could be done in time. Living with someone who could no longer remember you?
That torture was near eternal. Despite their reunion, despite how they had indeed come back together, Esmeray’s mind still wondered if Killian would ever truly love her the way he once had. The feeling would stick with her forever, she was certain.
With the Order’s Leader dealt with, at least for now, Esmeray was turning her attention towards her uncle. It was time that Aurelius got what was coming to him for what he did. How he had tried to control her, bring her back into the fold. She may have returned in her own time, if things had been different. Now, however, there was no way to know that. Es no longer had a side in this war. In fact, she would be happy to see both the Order and the people who used to call themselves Death Eaters burn.
But for now, she had to think on a smaller scale.
Aurelius had targeted someone close to Es. Her lover. While her Aunt Uriela was long dead, Aurelius had hardly been a faithful husband. Marianna Lestrange was already elbow-deep in her own shit without Esmeray’s wrath being involved. But Elara Ellsworth, one of her uncle’s more beloved pets, had given Es more than enough reason to single her out. Not only was the woman the one who had targeted Killian, who had delivered him to Aurelius and then continued to seduce him after his memories were taken, she was also a serial killer. Few knew that fact, but Es had once been her uncle’s beloved prodigy. In her hands, she held the key to Elara’s demise - and hopefully a blow to her uncle.
She just required a middle man.
Showing up at the Ministry of Magic was bold, even for her. She had been a wanted woman prior to being enshrined in the Order’s meager, pathetic “protection” – which, clearly, had been useless. She didn’t know if word had gotten around yet about Raphael’s little incident, but she did know that she had incredibly valuable information, if people were willing to hear it.
Es stepped into the Auror’s offices, finding one in particular. An Order member, Teddy Lupin. She carefully set her wand on his desk, and then held her hands up, palms facing out to make a point of being unarmed before she settled into a seat across from him.
“Good afternoon,” she greeted sweetly, crossing one leg over the other. “I have some information I think you would be particularly interested in.”

storms make trees take deeper roots.
| The past few months had been incredibly daunting. Trying to do his job in the middle of a war had proven to be troublesome for Teddy, and he didn't know how much more of it he could handle before he collapsed. Teddy had never dealt well with tragedies or war, always close to crumbling no matter what, and he was bound to fall apart if he let himself think too much. He sat at his desk toying with these thoughts for a while, twiddling his thumbs and staring up at the ceiling whilst he neglected his paperwork and various files that needed his attention. He could not deal with them right now, not while the world was falling apart as he knew it.
His thoughts were interrupted by another presence, however, and Teddy looked up fully expecting Connie or Ronik, instead being met with the face of Esmeray Raymon. She wasn't exactly on his radar, and not a well-known face that he cared about, but Teddy was no stranger to the witch and her politics, and especially not the family that she came from. The Raymons were like a rash that you couldn't get rid of, always coming back whenever you least expected it, and Esmeray was a big part of that. He sat up to look at her, hands coming to rest atop his desk and the pile of paperwork as she set down her wand. The witch made a show of not being armed, and Teddy couldn't help but roll his eyes at her.
"I do hope that it's something actually interesting and pertinent to the Auror office, or I'll have half a mind to make an arrest right here." Teddy spoke sternly, his voice never wavering in its strength as he caught the woman's eye. He never trusted Purebloods as far as he could throw them, but especially not ones who were known Death Eaters, and known associates of the Kindred and Death itself. They were on two opposite sides of the war, and though he loathed to admit it, Teddy was impressed by her audacity. "You may speak." He added, taking her wand in his hand and leaning back, never breaking eye contact. |

i wear heels bigger than your dick ❝ Over time, she had come to delight in the exasperation people displayed when in her presence. Like Esmeray was a thorn in their side, cumbersome, annoying, and nagging. Perhaps not compliments, but in the state of the world, and particularly the state of her mind, it was better than the alternative.I do hope that it’s something actually interesting and pertinent to the Auror office, or I’ll have half a mind to make an arrest right now.“Oh, I would hope it’s that,” Es chirped to the stoic man, “given that it involves someone in this very department. But if you feel you must arrest me, do take care to be extra tight with any restraints. They’re rather fun.” She couldn’t help herself, could not resist the urge to goad him even slightly. She may be wanted for the list of her many, many crimes, but the secrets she was about to spill were likely more than enough to grant her immunity in this particular spat. You may speak.“How gracious of you to grant me permission,” Esmeray retorted, a bite in the words that matched the way her eyes narrowed slightly. Something steely had taken over her face, and it was no greater pleasure of hers in that moment to take her own sweet time with her information.
She was, after all, the one that had something he wanted. Something the entire Ministry wanted, if she wasn’t mistaken. And Es knew she was not mistaken.
“I’m not quite sure if the Auror office will be more embarrassed or interested to know that one of the more…prolific criminals on their most wanted list has been right under their noses the whole time. Just down the hall, actually,” she gestured with a jerk of her chin. With a chuckle, she added, “hiding in plain sight, no less.”
Drumming her fingers against her leg, she recounted only a small portion of the innumerable offenses committed by her uncle’s lover, the least offensive of which would have landed her in Azkaban.
“I didn’t realize that the Ministry allowed murderers - serial killers, more like - to work within their ranks. More curious to me is that she’s associated with someone you’re extremely desperate to catch. Again.” With a pause, Esmeray smiled. “My darling uncle.”
Aurelius had escaped the Order’s clutches, which, Es was willing to admit, was a remarkable feat. And even when captured, his pet was unlikely to divulge his location, but…taking away her ability to keep him off the radar, removing his most powerful connection within the Ministry was a blow to Aurelius that would hopefully leave him vulnerable.
“Now, is that enticing enough for you to agree that it is, as you said, ‘interesting and pertinent to the Auror office’, Auror Lupin?”Esmeray had laid enough out that she suspected it was, but she was unwilling to fully divulge the name until she had verbal confirmation. So she could extricate a promise that for now, she would be left alone. And there was enough precedent established for those who broke their promises to her.
