blood statuses
it shouldn't matter - but, it does
This stuff is SUPER important, so read through this and become familiar with the stuff that's here.
There will be four status-types in this world: Purebloods, Half-bloods, Muggleborns, and Squibs. The only playable characters will be Purebloods, Half-bloods, and Muggleborns. No Squibs that will be playable! Makes things more fun if everyone can use magic.
This blood status isn't particularly common. If you're a Pureblood, you have a 100% magical lineage on both your maternal and paternal sides. Even the smallest hint of non-magical lineage will prevent this trait from passing on. Some people, called Pureblood Supremacists, think this is the only blood status worth much. They're dead wrong, but that doesn't mean that they won't fight tooth and nail for their cause.
Pureblood + Pureblood = Pureblood
This is the most common of the blood types, given the fact that there are so many different ways to attain it. Once a family has a trace of non-magical lineage, this is where their line will forever stay. Those normal witches and wizards or Muggles who produce offspring with half-breeds (vampires, werewolves, and veela) also fall under this category.
Pureblood + Half-Blood = Half-Blood
Pureblood + Muggleborn = Half-Blood
Pureblood + Muggle = Half-Blood
Pureblood + Squib = Half-Blood
Pureblood + Werewolf = Half-Blood
Pureblood + Veela/Part-Veela = Half-Blood
Pureblood + Vampire/Half-Vampire = Half-Blood
Half-Blood + Half-Blood = Half-Blood
Half-Blood + Muggleborn = Half-Blood
Half-Blood + Muggle = Half-Blood
Half-Blood + Squib = Half-Blood
Half-Blood + Werewolf = Half-Blood
Half-Blood + Veela /Part-Veela = Half-Blood
Half-Blood + Vampire/Half-Vampire = Half-Blood
This is a category that houses the witches and wizards who have two parents with non-magical lineage. Even if there are traces of magic way, way, way down the line, if a parent shows no magic in them and produces a magically gifted child, that person is a Muggleborn.
Muggle + Muggle = Muggleborn
Muggleborn + Muggleborn = Muggleborn
Muggleborn + Muggle = Muggleborn
Muggleborn + Squib = Muggleborn
Squib + Squib = Muggleborn
This is the rarest of all the blood statuses. A child who is born to two Pureblood parents and shows no magic within them is considered a Squib.
