personality
Sweet to his core, one might never suspect the hard beginning that Sawyer had to life. Deeply kind and generous, they are the kind of person to give you the shirt off their back, no questions asked, a trait of their idealistic nature. Sawyer likes to see the best in people and situations, his unfettered optimism finding a bright side in even the darkest of places. They are a patient, forgiving sort of person, quick to trust even at their own detriment- to the point of frequently being a doormat. Terrified of conflict, Sawyer goes with the flow at all costs, only speaking up to injustices that impact those he cares about, while forgoing his own needs and preferences. family information
biography Samuel and Blythe were, on the surface, a picturesque couple, a portrait of perfection in the staunchly conservative church in which they were raised, met, fell in love, and married. The only thing missing for them, was a child. The pair tried for years, worried that they might be barren, not destined for children of their own, until their prayers were finally answered. On Valentine's day, Blythe gave birth to a baby they named Priscilla. The pair were absolutely enamored with their baby, and at first were doting, albeit strict parents. Even as a small child, Sawyer felt discomfort in being called a girl, often breaking down in tears when Blythe would dress him like a porcelain doll- but wasn't allowed freedom of expression otherwise. The joy of their parents at having a child, however, was not meant to last. Samuel and Blythe found themselves terrified when Sawyer first displayed magic at merely four years old. Against his mother's wishes, he had climbed a tree on a sunny afternoon when a limb he shimmied onto snapped beneath his weight. For all intents and purposes, they should have been injured taking such a fall, but instead of plummeting straight down, they floated like a fallen leaf. Muggles, and devoutly religious ones at that, his parents reacted with fear, convinced that their precious child was possessed by demons- but in tempting to cast out perceived evil, they succeeded only in creating hell on earth for Sawyer. First came the belt, the kneeling in rice, the constant prayer and scripture reading. It escalated for years, but Sawyer's magic never went away, and in fact responded more strongly, trying to protect him. It all reached a head shortly after he turned seven, when his parents decided they were in over their heads and to hire an exorcist. It was an ordeal that stretched several days, ultimately resulting in Sawyer being hospitalized, where in seeing signs of abuse, the authorities were alerted. Sawyer was pulled from his biological parents' care, and placed in an orphanage, where his dads came into the picture. Initially looking for an infant, their hearts broke for the child punished for their magic, and thus opened their home and their love to Sawyer. Jacob and Roger turned out to be exactly what they needed, and through years of support and plenty of therapy, Sawyer blossomed from a fearful child to one full of kindness- a trait which sent him to Hufflepuff when he became of Hogwarts age. Sawyer's school years were mostly unremarkable, not especially popular, neither the best nor the worst in his class. Being in the middle of the pack suited the shy teen well, all too content to fade into the background. The discomfort which began in him in childhood developed further, but unsure and afraid, Sawyer repressed that side of them (even to their detriment), only finding the courage to examine his identity fully with the help of his sibling, Del. In his early twenties, Sawyer finally shed the shell of the person he'd once been, coming into his real identity. It was shortly after this that Sawyer met Vienna. The pair were nearly instantly smitten with one another, balancing and complementing one another in almost every way. Their relationship was something of a whirlwind, after a few years together they were married and Vienna had their first child- a boy they named Basil. Sawyer took readily to parenthood, resigning from his job at Twilfitt and Tatting's to be a stay at home parent. Now with another baby on the way, Sawyer couldn't be happier- he just hopes the war won't harm his family.
