biography when given the choice in his last year of hogwarts, richard arlington hewitt chose serena ismelda d'eath to be his wife. it was four years later that they welcomed their first children, fraternal twins named elizabeth and benjamin. elizabeth was born first, one and a half hour prior to her brother. given pureblood traditions, it was expected that being the first born would have no meaning for the hewitt daughter. however, the opposite seemed to be true when her father first held her in his arms, and decided to split the family fortune between his two oldest children. as a female heir of the family, certain things were expected from elizabeth, expectations she was made to be aware of throughout her childhood. due to serena's half-vampire status, it was a wonder that the hewitt couple could even have children in the first place. while the babies seemed to be healthy in the first place, it was soon discovered that the difficult pregnancy didn't go without any complications for the babies. elizabeth was born with a severe congenital heart defect due to improper development of her aorta and cardiac muscle, leaving her weakened and more prone to infections of the lungs and heart. after several surgeries during her childhood, the first one when she was only a couple of months old, she grew up a happy young girl. however, still having to deal with health risks and increased risks of infections. when betty turned eleven, both her and her brother received a letter for hogwarts. the two of them had been inseparable since their childhood, and were incredibly excited to be doing to hogwarts together. betty was happy to be sorted into hufflepuf when she started at hogwarts, proud to be taking after her father in yet another way. while she grew up close to benjamin, she grew up close to richard as well, she was her father's princess as her mother always called her. with benjamin being sorted into the slytherin, the twins were taken apart for the first time in their life. it changed the relationship between them in a way that nobody could have expected. while they used to be inseparable, benjamin now acted as if he didn't know her anymore, due to his friends intoxicating him with the idea that he should be the only heir to the hewitt family. not wanting to start any conflict in the family, betty has hid this fact from her parents. to keep up the act, benjamin seemed to act perfectly normal towards her whenever they spend time at the hewitt estate. going into her seventh year, elizabeth is starting to think of what she want her future to be like. especially whether what she wants is different from what her father expects of her. she is expected to land a great job within the ministry following her graduation and while marital plans haven't been made yet, she is aware they will be the same as any other girl from a pureblood family.
