biography Cadmus St Claire was the result of a premarital relationship between a stunning Veela woman and the man, that she ultimately chose to leave rather than deal with the child she had brought into the world. Cadmus's conception was, in all senses of the word, a mistake. Biersa had every intention of not going through with the pregnancy, with getting rid of the child and moving on. Antoine, on the other hand, begged her to go through with it, under the assumption that seeing the child in person would make her stay. Unfortunately, he was proved wrong, and soon he grew to resent his son, and never hesitated to let Cadmus know that. His whole life he was reminded of the fact, blamed for their destitution as his father drank himself out of employment. Blamed for their loneliness, blamed as the increasingly younger and younger women that found themselves in Antoine's bed refused to stick around. No matter the issue, Cadmus found himself as an easy scapegoat, with very little ammunition to defend himself. Hogwarts provided a brief respite from the torment, the years at school being among some of the best in his life. Cadmus proved himself to be an exceptional charms student, and an even more exceptional lay, learning very quickly that it was easy to make a quick buck in exchange for a night or two with a willing student. It was at Hogwarts that Cadmus entered the first relationship that he had ever had. The boy had been lovely, he had been kind and sweet and Cadmus fell hard and fast, despite the boy's closeted nature. The relationship was doomed from the start, and perhaps he should have expected it when his lover refused to come out, to let the world see them together and ultimately ended things just before their seventh year by sleeping with a girl to prove his heterosexuality. Cadmus graduated heartbroken, poor and lonely, though none of the feelings were anything particularly new to him. At 17 with shattered confidence and nonexistent self esteem, the young man turned to a life of being a sugar baby in order to make ends meet for both he and his father. It was a lucrative business, and one that he adapted to extremely quickly what with his Veela charms being used his his advantage. Though the job paid well and he was good at it, it was not without it's flaws. Cadmus learned early what the world thought of Veelas, particularly those who worked in his field, and there was little he could do to dispel the image. Even the most horrible of experiences with clients were not enough to turn him from his career choice, combined with the fact that he had little to no other job prospects that would offer him nearly enough to support both him and the father that he had essentially become a parent to in the later years of his life. Currently between long term clients, Cadmus works night by night, hired for his company and any other service that might be required of him and knows full well to keep his head down and mouth shut to make a living.
