biography as the only daughter of aaliyah and marius shafiq, there were always high hopes for corvina yasmin shafiq. early on, the shafiqs noticed that their daughter didn't show signs of magic in the way that their eldest son already had at a younger age, but they tried not to worry as they kept up the appearance that their daughter would be a talented witch one day. except, that they never came. only when corvina was eleven and her letter for hogwarts didn't come, did her parents want to face the fact that she would never be a witch at all, but was instead born without any magical abilities. however, they still tried to keep this under wraps as much as possible, trying to keep corvina's real blood status a secret by telling everyone their daughter was homeschooled instead of being send to hogwarts. as she got older, they tried to shield her from pureblood society as much as possible, their eldest son helping to protect his younger sister as well. while they arranged a marriage for their eldest son, they knew they couldn't arrange one for their daughter, for her secret would surely be revealed then. so corvina was somewhat allowed to do whatever she wanted, which gave her a certain sense of freedom that she had craved her entire life. she still went to the pureblood parties that she was invited to, but mostly stayed away from magical society in general. at one of these parties, she met kieran joyce, a pureblood man in every sense of the word, but most of all a married man. while most pureblood men hadn't been interested in her because of the rumours surrounding her blood status, kieran joyce didn't seem to mind. he was intoxicating in a way that she had never felt with anyone before. he adored her and made her feel like she was worthy of her pureblood status, despite the lack of magical ability. it didn't seem to matter to him that he was married, and it didn't take corvina long to forget about liliana joyce as well. corvina was blind to the dangers that came along with loving kieran joyce, until she got pregnant and gave birth to a son. when rohan was born, all that became important to corvina was the safety of her son. with the help of her brother, she moved out of the shafiq home and into a home with her son, secretly hoping that he was born without a magical ability as well. she pulled away from magical society completely, only seeing kieran joyce when it was necessary and barely letting rohan near the man. it was only when she met her current husband, a pureblood wizard himself, that she got more involved with wizarding society once more. the two of them got married only a couple of months ago, after the arrest of her former lover. despite his mother's prayers, rohan started showing signs of a magical ability at a young age and enrolled in hogwarts when he got his letter. in addition to having magical abilities, he showed signs of heightened senses at an early age. his mother always said he simply had good instincts, but when he was twelve, it became apparent that it was more than that. it was when he was home for christmas in his first year of hogwarts that he had his first and only vision, revealing to him that his good instincts had to do with him being a seer, even if the connection to his inner eye was weak. he had never been scared of the things he saw and felt before until that evening, as the vision showed him that he would kill a girl upon kissing her. after the vision, he noticed that he didn't have any connection to his inner eye anymore, not feeling or seeing the same things he used to experience. at the time, his mother took him to see several seers about his connection to his inner eye and about the vision itself. they all told him the same thing; he would kill his true love with a kiss. now, about five years later, he is starting to experience the things the used to feel again, as if his connection to his inner eye is returning. only now, he is terrified of it, scared of what else it will show him. in addition, he has always been frustrated that he can't see a vision again, hoping it would give him more of an explanation about what he saw that christmas eve.
