biography Winona was born to a pair of parents that had never truly loved one another, and ultimately never would. The perfect example of a pureblood couple forced together in the name of status, Stéphane and Célia were doomed from the beginning. Their first child, Delphine, was a sickly young girl throughout her entire childhood, leaving little time for the couple to be disappointed over the fact that they had been given a daughter and not a son as they scrambled to care for her. Their second daughter was not so lucky. Disappointed already by their first girl, Winona's birth was celebrated less for the arrival of a new child in the family and more for the extra set of hands in helping care for her sister. Not long after that she was overshadowed by the birth of their son, the pride and joy of the family, and Winona once again became the caretaker of the family. As time went on, the young woman watched as her parents' marriage crumbled before her eyes. Her father was out most weeks, on what he liked to call business trips, though even a twelve year old Winona could tell the difference. Her mother, on the other hand, soon turned mean and vindictive under the influence of alcohol, leaving Winona to scramble over the care of a sister who was ill more often than she was healthy and a brother who had never been told no in his life and did not take kindly to hearing it now. Her skin toughened as she got used to her role, becoming accustomed to taking on the role of a caretaker, to having insults thrown her way at every turn, to taking the blame for both her own mistakes and those of her siblings. School became an escape for her, allowing her a few months' reprieve from the stifling nature of her home, and she thrived in an academic context, graduating top of her class. Immediately upon graduation, Winona took her best friend in the world, packed her bags and left for Amsterdam. The two spent months traveling before he had to return to London. Winnie, on the other hand, could not bear to return home to France and remained abroad for another year or two before settling in London to be close to her dear friend. She picked up a respectable ministry job, one her parents would not question her for accepting and made a comfortable life for herself in London, though she never lost her love for traveling and made a habit of taking the occasional long trip whenever her boss so allowed.
