Ernie and Ellie have the dynamic of most siblings that are separated by five years in age - only a little close, mostly little quarrels, and a healthy dose of competition. At five years older than Ellie, Ernie was old enough to remember when their parents were saved by none other than Harry Potter himself and the other members of the Golden Trio. Ellie would have only shared a couple years in school with her brother, and even then, he really didn't want to associate with his "nerdy little sister". He was off in the world after she finished her second year, but even in the time it took for her to catch up, he hadn't left a mark big enough to stand a chance against the force of Ellie Cattermole. After graduating and studying magical law, Ellie easily gained notoriety - and likely some of Ernie's jealousy - with her early success both as an Order member and as the youngest member of the Wizengamot. Ernie thinks Ellie is perhaps a little too self-righteous, increasingly so as her black-and-white sense of justice emerged, but at the end of the day, she's family, and like it or not, he has to deal with it. As Ellie's relationship with santino mateo piero corleone blossoms, Ernie is surprised that his stick-in-the-mud of a sister is getting involved with a vampire mafia brother - and starts to become a little wary and suspicious of Santino as a result.
