biography alessia and sergio were love at first sight; at least, that’s what they like to tell people when they ask. in reality, the two were a product of an arrangement through their company, hoping to garner good publicity and notoriety for the small group in southern italy. at the time, alessia was the company’s jewel and sergio her partner; the stories nearly wrote themselves, and thus the relationship was fabricated. with alessia in her early twenties, the plan was to have them gallivant around until one of them got a new position elsewhere. alas, that wasn’t the case. the fame and luster died down eventually, and though their respective careers were successful, the stunt hardly garnered the results they wished for. unfortunately, too, with their relationship being in the public eye for so many years they didn’t think it would be beneficial to split up. so, with little love between them, they wed. here is where they like to tell their son that they fell in love- making appearances at ballets, attending socialite gatherings, and associating with whoever could give them the connections they craved. luca came into the picture a few years later, a surprise entirely- but a surprise they embraced. after all, what better way to stay involved in the community they so adored? in his parents’ footsteps, luca began training in ballet at the mere age of six. it began with simple lessons, occasional experiences with a private coach- and as years went on, he completely dove into the art. at the age of eleven, when he would traditionally be enrolled in a magical school, he instead enrolled in a dance academy. though he spent his nights studying for his degree at beauxbatons, that was hardly his priority; from dawn until dusk, he danced. though he dabbled in various forms of dancing, and trained in them as well, his skills were in ballet. at nine, he was selected for the paris opera ballet academy. there he trained for three years. he did adequate in his private studies, almost entirely due to the private tutor his parents hired, but he often found talk of runes or potions trivial in comparison to his work. the next bit of his life was spent training under various companies. like his parents before them, his rigorous training soon came to fruition as he clawed his way up the ranks. at sixteen, he became the danseur noble for the company his parents used to represent. from there he danced in the bolshoi ballet for about a year and a half. though he intended to stay for longer, he was recruited by la scala theater ballet. arguably one of the most prominent companies in europe, he eagerly took the position and performed in their corps. that was when he started to gain more eyes. two of those pairs of eyes were madeline shafiq and sylvie rousseau, looking for talent to join the magician’s ballet of london. when they approached luca about joining almost a year ago, he was a bit trepidatious about the matter- but he took a chance, moving up immediately to a position in the corps de ballet with the complete intent to be a principal dancer within the next few years in spite of his young age. but despite all he has done, and all the success he has garnered; luca has yet to reach where he needs to be. to his parents, at least- through every position and honor he has cycled through, have had little to praise him for over the years. he surpassed their success, even, long ago; but over the years the tension between them has only increased, and their expectations risen. they are to this day his biggest critiques; the start of his career, and very possibly one day the end of it.
