biography Geoff and Stephanie were a match made in heaven, as they might put it, and Hunter believed that from the bottom of his heart. Raised in a community run by The Crystal People in southern New Mexico, the pair married shortly after Stephanie graduated from Crystal Springs Academy of Magic. The young couple relocated to Truth or Consequences nearby, purchasing a run-down lodge near the hot springs and renovating it into a small hotel. After a few years they had their first child. Born Aidan Gaier, the first child of the bunch was immediately a handful. Geoff had an especially firm hand, resorting to corporal punishment to keep his unruly child in line. Hunter was not quite as rebellious and was often met with his parents' grace and kindness. Of course, his father was still one for strictness and tradition, so Hunter still found himself under the heel. in fact, it was more of an abusive relationship than Hunter would let on. He was frequently demoralized or used and then was given a hand to hold. This would lead to the trauma that would keep him in line under his parents, believing it to all be normal and fine. He had suitably been brainwashed. He went to his mother's alma mater and was a decent student, but was constantly chastised by his parents for being too focused on his sister and what she was going through. They felt that she was a terrible influence and that she would taint him. Then...she was gone. He was devastated, but he understood why she felt like she had to leave. He still wished she would return to them though and see that not everything was bad. It wasn't a cult, it was family. Hunter was finally given his chance to try and get Zoe back when his father sent him off to her new home.
