Cyan only partially follows the mold of what one might expect from the McLaggens. He's confident to the point of arrogance, some might even say braggadocious, which was certainly inherited from his father. Though Cy (as he's often called) has forged his own path in contrast to expectations set by his father and sister. Hungry for power and fame, Cy carries the quintessential Slytherin ambition, aided by a self-centered narrative and certain disdain for rules that don't serve him. That's not to say he's entirely heartless, Cyan cares deeply for those that matter to him and is driven to do what's right- but his definition of "right" isn't always congruent with what others might think. Charming and more intelligent than he lets on, Cy probably gets away with more than he ought to, not that he's complaining. family information
biography Cordelia and Cormac met shortly after schooling, and after a brief, intense relationship the pair were married and had their first child, Scarlett. Cyan, the second of their colorfully named children, was born two years later. With both children taking more after their father than their gentle, soft-spoken mother, Cy and Scar were often quite the handful when they were young. As little brothers are wont to do, Cy took great delight in terrorizing his big sister when they were little. At eleven, to no surprise, Cyan received his Hogwarts letter, though shocked his parents when he was sorted into Slytherin upon arrival- bucking strong family Gryffindor tradition in the process. As time went on, however, the family eventually came into agreement that it was the place for him. Cy made fast friends regardless of their respective house, eager to claw his way to a position of popularity. Not having a bad mind, Cy did better than expected academically, that was until he was old enough to join the Slytherin quidditch team. Academia quickly lost his interest in favor of the sport, and Cy trained aggressively, and partied harder. Some might argue that he began running with the wrong crowd, though Cyan never saw it that way. He merely saw it as reaping the rewards of his popularity by having a good time. Drinks now and again, the odd bump of a substance here and there, but it was only ever in good fun for him. The summer prior to his seventh year brought big changes to the world- Cy was in the stands, supporting Scarlett, at the fateful World Cup final match which brought the public spectacle of Harry Potter's demise and the reveal of Death. He remains clueless as to what he can do to help, or if he even wants to when problems in his social circle began to crop up following the sudden expulsion of a friend. Now midway through his seventh year, Cy has his sights set on getting signed to a team- and is trying to put the horrors of potential war out of sight and out of mind.
