Zoe takes pride in being the queer punk your conservative granny warned you about, as she puts it. Loud by default, she's almost larger than life (helped along by a height of 6'2"), vibrant and bold. A bit on an adrenaline junkie, Zoe's been known to charge directly into the unknown with reckless abandon, she's nigh on fearless in most instances. Zoe admits to being a bit crass, though others might label her vulgar, but she strives to tell and uncover the truth, no matter how painful it might be. Her famous temper has gotten her into trouble, though she tries her best to only deal out lashings (whether verbal or otherwise) to those who truly deserve it. Despite a general disdain for rules and etiquette, Zoe has a drive to do what's right, and is a staunch defender of anyone unable to stand up for themselves. family information
biography Geoff and Stephanie were a match made in heaven, as they might put it, though Zoe telling the narrative might explain their pairing came from a different realm. Raised in a community run by The Crystal People in southern New Mexico, the pair married shortly after Stephanie graduated from Crystal Springs Academy of Magic. The young couple relocated to Truth or Consequences nearby, purchasing a run-down lodge near the hot springs and renovating it into a small hotel. After a few years they had their first child. Born Aidan Gaier, the first child of the bunch was immediately a handful. Geoff had an especially firm hand, resorting to corporal punishment to keep his unruly child in line. Zoe carried confusion from a young age, though in trying desperately to walk the line drawn by her strict parents, ignored the feelings deep within her and attempted to be the perfect son. Her mouth and impulsivity had other ideas, however, and she was in trouble more often than not. There were moments of freedom, however, once she turned eleven. Stephanie was insistent that the children attend her former alma mater- where they would best learn to use their God-given magic. At thirteen Zoe began dabbling in gender expression, it felt equal parts good and wrong, but was quick to cut her hair and square up when it was time to go home for the holidays. But even the best-kept secrets can come out- a plain black shift dress buried in the bottom of her pile of school clothes resulted in the worst beating yet. She spent the remainder of her school years throwing herself into a hypermasculine role- taking up a spot on the Swivenhodge team, finding a temper, and a liking of alcohol. A breakdown just before graduation drove Zoe to realize she couldn't live that way anymore, and she ran at the first opportunity- an archaeology internship in rural China. Navigating a new country and new identity brought difficulty, but she relished in the freedom. Zoe took to the work readily, staying in it a few years, though found it lacked adventure. Craving danger and intrigue over white gloves and careful excavation- she looked to new horizons, coming instead to the UK to become a cursebreaker for Gringotts a few years ago. Zoe's knack for runes and devil-may-care attitude quickly made a name for her- thankfully the goblins don't give a damn so long as she keeps bringing in the treasure. It's taken a good deal of work to become the person she is today, but Zoe's found a life for herself worth fighting for, and intends to keep doing so.
