biography Lorcan was the first-born child born of Luna and Rolf Scamander, merely ten minutes before his brother, Lysander. The two identical twins were nearly identical in temperament, though Lorcan was certainly much more driven than his brother. Lottie, when she came along, was the brightest of the bunch, and the trio were incredibly close. Lorcan, unlike his brother, was early to develop his magic, showing the first signs of magic by his fifth or sixth birthday. His brother didn't start to display magic until their eighth birthday, though by then most had dismissed Lysander as a squib. On that day, however, Lysander levitated the birthday cake over Lorcan's head and dropped it directly on his twin's head. Lysander and Lorcan entered Hogwarts together, though that is where their paths diverged. Lysander was sorted into the house of their parents and grandparents, while Lorcan forged his own path into Gryffindor. He and his twin remained close, but from then on, there was some distance between them. Lorcan and Lysander walked with different people and ran in different crowds. Things only changed more when the twins hit puberty. While they both shot up in height, Lorcan went from being wiry and kind of dorky to well-built and athletic. Lorcan never really succeeded in school; he didn't like sitting in classrooms all day The only classes he really excelled in were those outside, Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology. He loved being out and exploring, often getting in trouble for sneaking around and finding himself in unfortunate, and often off-limits, places. Lorcan found his stride in quidditch, enjoying the rush of both the game and sneaking out of the castle for late-night practices. Needless to say, Lorcan spent a lot of time in detention. He was the co-captain of the Gryffindor quidditch team his sixth and seventh years, and was recruited to the Puddlemore United team after graduation. He spent the next three and a half years in reserve for the team, only recently promoted to chaser. Three months before he would be promoted to starting chaser for Puddlemore United, however, tragedy struck. Lorcan was attacked by a rogue werewolf on his way home from Diagon Alley to his flat a few blocks away. He nearly died, but, in a moment of panic, sent a patronus message to his brother. It was Lysander who found him and took him to St. Mungo's, where he made a full recovery, though he is now a werewolf. His family still loves him, just as much as they did before, but there is a definite difference between them all that Lorcan is almost painfully aware of.
