biography Born on leap day in 1988, Will was the third of four children to the Alcott family. He was two years younger than Patrick, who was barely a year younger than Josephine. The three of them grew up rather close for six years until Anna was born, significantly younger than her siblings. The three elder children all typically played together, and got sent off to school close together, leaving the baby of the family at home with their parents. When at Hogwarts, both Josephine and Patrick were sorted into Hufflepuff. William expected to follow after them, but was instead sorted into Gryffindor. It stung a little, given how close he was with his siblings, but William quickly got over it. They still spent quite a bit of time together and remained just as close as they had before Hogwarts came into the picture. Anna was really the black sheep of the family, starting at the school when Will was in his seventh and final year. Anna, unlike her siblings, was sorted into Slytherin, a puzzling fact that wouldn't be understood until much later. She was also the first of the Alcott children to marry, doing so at the alarming age of fifteen to someone three years her elder. Her three siblings had all attained Ministry jobs while she stayed at home, a housewife to Jackson Lercne, a pureblood with the Death Eater ideals. William supported Anna, but didn't keep in touch with her as much as he did with Josephine and Patrick, who got married only months apart. It wasn't long after that Josephine welcomed a baby girl, Liliana, to play with her uncle Willie. The Alcott clan grew much larger with the birth of Patrick's twin boys, Josephine's son, and Patrick's daughter just before Will wed a woman he fell in love with at the Ministry named Ivy Writting. They had two stunning children together, one boy and one girl, named Irene and Samuel. Life was perfect until everything happened all at once. Anna followed her husband's beliefs, supporting the Death Eaters fully. It was unbeknownst to her siblings that she had joined them, getting the Mark emblazoned on her arm like a badge. Whether driven by jealousy of how close her siblings were, or how her own daughter, Elisabeth, didn't seem to get the same amount of attention from her aunts and uncles as her cousins did, Anna had William attacked by a werewolf and bitten. It was the most painful, traumatic experience of Will's life up until that point, but things wouldn't get better. There was no light at the end of the tunnel just yet. Anna had taken the entire Alcott family hostage. Using Will as her weapon, she dangled Ivy, Irene, and Samuel in front of him and forced him to kill his family members--his parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews--one by one. It ripped William apart to do these things, and Anna seemed to know that it would. When he finished, he was a bloody, sobbing wreck, but that wasn't enough for the youngest sibling. She placed him under the Imperius curse and made him kill his own children while his wife watched. Destroyed by what he had done, William became enraged and murdered Anna, her husband Jackson, and their daughter Elisabeth before collapsing, inconsolable. He held a funeral for each family member except Anna, who was buried privately and without ceremony. The family's death was called an attack by the Death Eaters, but the guilt weighs heavily on Will's shoulders, and has dealt a great deal of damage to his marriage. He still works at the Ministry, but his work is unfocused and sloppy nowadays. He lives in a spiral of self-loathing, becoming the monster that killed his family once a month with the moon the reminder he always has to bear.
