biography Centuries before any large magical conflict, precious little Eleanor was born to a wizard that was seduced by a Veela. James and Christine spoiled their daughter with all the luxuries of the seventeenth century. James's status on the court of King Louis XIV in France. Eleanor grew up well-educated for a woman in her era of birth, and was sent off to the private magical schooling of Beauxbatons when she was young, despite how frowned upon it was for a girl to receive formal education beyond just a tutor. For as sweet a young girl as she was, it surprised quite a few people when her arrow emitted grey sparks, making her an Ombrelune member. It wasn't until several years later, when puberty and her teenage years started to grace her did her cunning manipulation and Veela Charm make her placement more apparent. She was known to string some of her male companions on for long periods of time before simply cutting them off, maintaining her prized virtue. Of course, since birth, she had been promised to marry a magical-blooded French nobleman several years her elder, but their betrothal had been postponed until the end of her schooling years and later postponed again due to the political requirements of her betrothed following the Treaty of Nijmegen. The wedding between Gérard and Eleanor eventually was set to take place a few short weeks after her twenty-second birthday. Not even a week after that bright late-summer day celebrating her birthday did Eleanor's life change entirely. An attack upon her while she was out on her evening ride left her severely altered and in massive amounts of pain. It wasn't until the burning thirst and the intense need to hunt came upon her that she realize she had been Turned. She still does not know who it is that Made her, but she can feel when they are near. At first, Eleanor resented what she had become. She was a half-Veela, prized daughter of a nobleman, and set to marry into a wealthy magical family. This new appetite, immortality, and body completely crushed everything Eleanor had ever dreamed of--a happy marriage growing old with someone, children of her own, and the normal life of a woman at court. Calling off the wedding, however, would ruin the Bennet family status, so she hid her new affliction and married Gérard, denying anything had happened, even to herself, and trying to force herself into a normal life, starving herself of the blood she craved. The young half-Veela fell into a depression a few years into her marriage when Gérard became unfaithful to her after she failed to provide him any living child. Five miscarriages and futile attempts at potions, tisanes, or any brew that could help her conceive a child in her now-immortal womb pushed her beloved husband away from her, and she nearly considered taking her own life. Before she could, however, Gérard met his own untimely death in the form of the Bombardment of Genoa. In his death, all of Gérard's land, wealth, and titles were to be passed to his next male heir. As Eleanor had provided him with no child whatsoever, everything she had was given to a de Chigny cousin. It left the vampire completely heartbroken and with nothing. Enraged at the events, Eleanor went on her first killing spree, draining several of the men who had taken everything from her. It was the first time she had tasted human blood, and she had become incensed by it. Now a widow and without much to her name, Eleanor still made appearances at court, if only to garner sympathy and attract a new husband. She kept her face concealed under a thick black veil to hide how she did not age while those around her did, using the guise of mourning Gérard as her excuse. Now, with her appetite for blood whet, Eleanor continued to kill, developing a taste for certain blood types over others. Her targets were primarily men who cheated on their pregnant wives or who had garnered an unhealthy amount of political sway, but a few bouts of rage, jealousy and sorrow led to the death of her close friend after it was revealed she was pregnant. After each death, Eleanor hated herself with a grand passion and would often disappear for a great length of time, traveling, and then resurfacing in a different city or country. About a century after her Tuning, Eleanor met Khun Mae. The elder vampire took the feeble, self-loathing mess she was and created a formidable woman in its place. Eleanor was taught to relish her newfound power and the superiority that came with it. Thus began a new era in Eleanor's life. She became loyal to Khun Mae, admiring the woman for everything that she was. It wasn't long before she learned that she could use her Veela Charm to her advantage when it came to her targets, and it was how she lured in blood banks for herself and Khun Mae, one of whom eventually became her second husband in the late eighteenth century. Mattieu Clairmont was a pureblood who had easily fallen under Eleanor's spell and become hooked on how it felt when she fed from him. He doted on her, made appearances with her in the court of Louis XVI, and in return, Eleanor fed on him. What Mattieu severely underestimated, however, was how manipulative she could be and how much her mentor had taught her. On the surface, Eleanor could play the typical eighteenth-century woman--meek, sweet, obedient, and seeking status. After their marriage, however, it became clear that Eleanor wanted to be none of those things. Mattieu was convenient only for his wealth and status, and she took everything he had before he met an untimely death at her own hands. Thus began her own little tirade. She would pick out high-status wizards who had something she wanted. Her Charm lured them in, seduced them. Some she used to feed, others were purely playthings. Once she took them for everything they had, she disposed of them, a reflection of her schooling days. Her third husband happened entirely by mistake. Eleanor met Charles in the era of the early twentieth century in England, more than a century after her second marriage. He was a muggleborn wizard who came from a struggling family--nothing like what Eleanor and Khun Mae typically targeted. At first, she had written him off, but her Charm kept bringing him back. It was a few casual fun-ins that led to plans to dates and eventually, a secret love affair. Eleanor tried to hide him from Khun Mae in hopes that she wouldn't kill him. She had every intention of Turning Charles, finding humans to be weak and inferior as a species. Their wedding took place in secret, and Eleanor had fallen hopelessly in love with him. She carried out a happy life with him under the radar until the rampage of Gellert Grindelwald took him from her. He was the longest marriage she had ever had at nearly a decade and a half. Charles's death shook her in ways Eleanor hadn't imagined, but it didn't sway her beliefs. If anything, she became more rooted in the way Khun Mae saw things with humans. They were but a blink on her radar, and they meant nothing to her. It's driven her to become more calculating, ruthless, and power-hungry than before, and easily earned her the title of Khun Mae's Second. Over the years, she has gone by several different aliases and changed appearances on a few occasions, but those who she is close with know her by her birth name.
