Quinn is a meek sort of man, introverted and quiet, he doesn't tend to draw much attention to himself. He likes to think of himself as being in more of a supporting role than a lead, and wants to help people be their best, making healing a natural fit. Knowing what it's like to be rejected and outcast, Quinn is a highly compassionate and accepting individual. Brightly intelligent and especially verbose, Quinn touts fluency in Korean and French. Passive to a fault, he's fairly easy to push around, but when he finally snaps his anger is unparalleled. family information
biography Quinn's story begins with his father, Ji-Sung, the lone squib in a line of pureblood wizards, and a source of shame for the family. Ji-Sung left his family when he came of age, and found a niche for himself in the muggle world as a businessman. He married Quinn's mother in their native South Korea, and would shortly thereafter be lured to the UK for a lucrative opportunity. Quinn was born a few years after they had settled. His parents were doting the first few years, perhaps overtly so, making for a nervous child. After the birth of his younger sister, their efforts were more evenly dispersed, allowing their son room to grow. Quinn became quite close with his sister, Grace, which became a source of tension with his staunchly traditional father- who disapproved of Quinn having tea parties or playing dolls with his sister. The rift continued to grow as the Park children began displaying traits of magic, making their father bitter that they should be gifted with magic when it had passed over him. Nevertheless, Quinn was permitted to attend Hogwarts, where his bright, inquisitive mind landed him in Ravenclaw. He excelled in most subjects, and in craving approval he lacked at home, Quinn became something of a teacher's pet- favoring the library over the Quidditch pitch, and putting far more effort into his assignments than he should have. A distraction came along in his sixth year, a boy Quinn was quite smitten with. The pair shared a kiss, and while the relationship didn't last long, news of the kiss spread like wildfire through the castle- in essence forcing an awkward boy out of the closet. Quinn was able to prevent word of it from getting home until after his graduation when he had taken up an intern position at St. Mungo's. Finally having enough of his well-meaning mother's attempts to set him up with a nice Korean girl, Quinn finally broke the news to his parents. His mother cried, and his father simply looked at him coldly, stating that he had no son. Alone and disheartened, Quinn threw himself rather aggressively into his work- quickly gaining a reputation for being willing to treat anyone, particularly half-breeds whom many of the other healers would refuse to help. Quinn identified with the plight of half-breeds, having been disowned himself, ultimately this compassion would be what caused him to become one as well. He was called upon to take a field call in the middle of the night of a full moon- a werewolf caught in a hunting trap and loosing blood rapidly. Wanting nothing but to help, Quinn agreed to take the call alone when no one else would answer. A slight lapse in judgement at the scene resulted in him being bitten and infected with lycanthropy himself. With his new halfbreed status, Quinn found himself even more alone than before, his safe haven of work turning into an open place of hostility. He has mostly withdrawn, attempting not to draw too much attention to himself, but remains faithfully at his post in St. Mungo's to bring healing to those he can. As the days carry on, his patience is beginning to be stretched thin, with each half-breed or homophobic slur chipping away at his last nerve...
