points system

for the glory of your house

after talking about it for what seems like forever, I'm finally putting this bad boy into place! the point system will be a fun way for you to earn rewards for your activity! there will be two point categories: house points and individual points.

each house will have its own counter, and every little thing you do will allow you to earn points towards your character's house/former house (or a house of your choice if they didn't attend hogwarts). there will be no prizes awarded for that, though the points will reset at the start of every term. it's just something fun to help make things a little more realistic.

the individual points are where prizes can be earned. alongside the house points, you will earn individual points for the things that you do. there will be a prize list where you can cash in those points for different rewards.

point values

TEN POINTS

• respond to a plot thread (first response only)
• post a wanted ad (add five points if the ad includes more than one character, add ten points if it includes five or more)
• reach 10 in-character posts for your character
• create an original character
• create a female character

FIFTEEN POINTS

• make a plot thread (once per member)
• create a canon character
• make a graduate character
• get nominated for a monthly character award (per character)

TWENTY POINTS

• make a student character
• take a wanted ad
• nominate someone for the monthly character awards (once per member)
• get nominated for member of the month
• create a new thread between two characters
• create a male character

TWENTY-FIVE POINTS

• nominate someone for the member of the month
• get nominated for thread/post/quote of the month
• create a halfbreed
• claim an alliance
• reach twenty-five in-character posts
• have less than half of your characters not on the activity check

THIRTY POINTS

• nominate someone for thread/post/quote of the month
• post an open thread
• create a character journal
• post a one-shot in the present timeline
• have only one character on the activity check

THIRTY-FIVE POINTS

• write in the character journal (first additional entry)
• create a new thread between three or more characters
• participate in an alliance meeting
• post a thread that moves forward the site-wide plot
• keep all of your characters off of the activity check

FORTY POINTS

• create a thread in the past
• claim an open thread
• create a ghost character
• discover a clue about the big-bad through roleplay
• create an alliance meeting/mission thread

FORTY FIVE POINTS

• create lasting drama for the overall plot of the site
• reach fifty in-character posts
• have your character go through a major life event (marriage, baby, divorce, death in the family, etc)

FIFTY POINTS

• participate in a big-bad event
• win a monthly award (any of the character awards, member, thread/post/quote)
