biography The Henio and Greengrass names both follow Astrid wherever she goes. While her brother has done his best to make a name for himself, however, Astrid has sunk into this role she is supposed to play with resignation. To combat the trouble her brother causes everywhere he goes, Astrid has tried for as long as she can remember to be the perfect, pureblood daughter. Whatever her parents want, she does. Even as only a fifth year, her parents are already speaking of arranging a marriage for her. She goes along with it because she feels she has no other option. Her parents put more and more pressure on her with every discretion of Tavas, and she drowned under their expectations long ago. She is well and truly broken—resigned to the life her parents had built for her, resigned to the life she would be forced into. Everything Astrid is passionate about, thinks, or believes was put aside a long time ago. She is gay, but she can't acknowledge that. She thinks something is wrong with her, and hasn't even talked to her brother about it. Astrid pushes down her own feelings and does her best to ignore everything wrong with her.
