biography The Zabini’s were most well-known for Blaise’s mother, who notably was widowed seven times by progressively richer husbands. As soon as he graduated from Hogwarts, Blaise married a lovely French woman and the two of them quickly started having children. They took their Blaise’s mother in to have help caring for the children, so Caelia grew up very close to her grandmother. It perhaps wasn’t the best influence, but Caelia was soon able to mediate any conflict and persuade her way into most things. The only exception was her parents, who were used to the persuasion tactics of Blaise’s mother. Caelia was taught from a young age how to be prim and proper, and while she never particularly enjoyed her parents’ lifestyle, she became quite adept. It came as no surprise when she was sorted into Slytherin, but her parents were quite surprised that she joined the Quidditch team in her second year. Caelia fit in better amongst her teammates than anyone and became an excellent Keeper. Aside from that, she was closest to her siblings while at school. Both are considerably louder than her, so it was often Caelia’s job to mediate between the two. It was about her fourth year when it became clear that Caelia was not interested in boys. However, since that would be completely unacceptable to her family, Caelia never said a word to anyone. She continued to string boys along, never having any serious relationships. Her parents didn’t think anything was amiss for a while, but toward her last year of Hogwarts, they started looking for a suitable pureblood husband for their eldest daughter. Caelia wasn’t a great student, but got by on her potions prowess and family name. Upon graduating, she had multiple offers for professional quidditch positions, but was told by her mother that it wasn’t proper for her to play professional sports. Her father was able to get her a job at the Ministry instead, though she’s fully expected to quit once she gets married. Which her parents are now planning for any day. Caelia will go along with whatever they say, though she knows she’ll resent the life that comes with it.
