biography Giselle lived a life growing up that made her often feel split between two worlds. She knew of her magical blood from her father, but also knew the muggle world of her mother. Growing up, she was told all about the wonders of the magical world, and couldn't wait until she began to learn magic. Giselle's first year at Hogwarts came the September after the Battle of Hogwarts. With all the tragedy and violence, it was more bittersweet than exciting for her in reality. Her sister, Cecily, had been a second-year at the time, and had debated for most of the summer about going back. The only thing that made her elder sister return was Giselle, as the girls had lost their father in the wizarding war. Her sister had been sorted into Ravenclaw, like their father had been, but when Giselle appeared, she was put in the Slytherin house. It wasn't something she took as an offense, despite how people tried to use it as an insult to her. She always desired to be more, to do more, and she figured that was why Slytherin suited her. She graduated with a lovely resume to carry her into her career. She spent quite a few years in the muggle world with her mother at first, knowing that once she was left with an empty nest, Elma would fall into a deeper grief than she had after losing Jasper. Her mother was an editor at a muggle magazine, and Giselle spent a lot of time helping her there, until she just took a job with them. The brutal murder of Lucinda Rose opened up the editor-in-chief position at Witch Weekly, and it was actually her mother who convinced her to go for it. She took the job, but only because she wanted to take the magazine known for gossip and frivolous articles and make it truly mean something, to revamp it into becoming a top source of news.
