It was hard for him to just "blend in" and be a "normal student" when he began schooling at Hogwarts. It helped that he had his multitude of Weasley cousins to spend time with, but people consistently asked about his father, who the boy bore a striking resemblance to, like his father to his grandfather. His sister, Verona, was just a couple of years older than he was, but she inherited the absolute adoration for Quidditch that both Harry and Ginny had. Beckett, while good at Quidditch, didn't want to make a career out of it, though he played for the Gryffindor team. Instead, he found his strength in something his father had never been particularly fond of: potions. He wanted to forge his own path, to have people stop comparing him to his father and the extraordinary magic he had accomplished so young. Most people in Beckett's year understand by now his wish to be a separate person from his father, but many first-years ask questions about his family. He doesn't dislike the attention, and he certainly doesn't resent his relationship to Harry Potter, but he just wishes that he had something to call his own title instead of the son of The Chosen One.
