biography Chantelle's parents met by complete circumstantial coincidence. The two were immediately attracted to one another, but also found it very easy to argue intensely together, which led to an incredibly passionate affair one night in Vienna, the night Chantelle was conceived. When Kirstin found out she was pregnant, she tracked Jean-Claude down and threatened him with everything she could so she wouldn't have to raise the baby alone. Jean-Claude relented, marrying Kirstin, and Chantelle was born, with the family settling in Wales, the middle ground between the two with her mother wanting the US so the baby could attend Ilvermorny and her father wanting France so she would get the Beauxbatons education. While she grew up, Chantelle's parents fought an incredible amount and in the most volatile manner often. Truly, had it not been for their daughter, it is unlikely the pair would have stayed together. Or so it seemed. As she grew up, her parents learned to fall in love with each other, despite how much they argued and butted heads. They decided to have another child, on purpose this time, and Chantelle couldn't help but harbor a feeling of resentment towards her mother, father, and younger sister over this fact. She was a mistake and her sister was planned. She spent as much time at school as possible, avoiding the "perfect family" at home. At Hogwarts, she was able to drown herself in all sorts of magic, from historical text to the simplest of charms. Arithmancy was a particular strong suit of hers, and when she stayed behind on break, she often spent time getting extra lessons from her professor. After leaving Hogwarts, Chantelle married one of her schoolmates, Edmund Shauncy. The pair tried for years to have a child, but it wasn't until their ninth anniversary that Chantelle became pregnant with her son, Simon. Shortly after Simon's birth, Chantelle discovered that Edmund went and had children with other women, thinking her infertile. She quickly divorced him, taking her precious Simon with her, despite Edmund's fight for custody. Wanting to provide the best possible life for her child, Chantelle began to work, returning to Hogwarts and taking the position of her former Arithmancy professor. Years later, she became Ravenclaw's Head of House, which provided her with housing and a place for Simon to stay, so he often visits the Arithmancy classes.
