His father never knew his son, and would come to know very few of his children. Cecelia had no clue that Marcus had been a wizard, and when Dom's letter had been received, informing him that he had magical blood, she screamed, protested, and forbade him from going. She felt that the world had taken the man she loved from her, and now they were taking her beloved son from her, too. Dom went to school despite his mother's protests, initially eager to learn about something he had in common with his father after so much time with his mother. Quickly, he became obsessed with the magical world, wondering how anyone could ever prefer the life of a muggle over a life of magic. As he grew, his mother became a little resentful as her son drifted further and further into the world that had claimed his father, and Domnall in turn became resentful of his mother. He easily bought in to the Death Eater ideals at around the age of fifteen, and developed an obsession with Dark Magic shortly thereafter. He thought the world of magic shouldn't be hidden, that it should dominate the world, and that witches and wizards were superior to all other life. So it was no surprise when he graduated and nearly immediately joined the ranks of the Death Eaters. He was known for being ruthless and cold-hearted, but many questioned his dedication to the cause when he had a muggle mother. So, when he was twenty-one, he returned home one last time. Cecelia had been overjoyed to see her son return to her at last, but there was no hiding the steel in the boy's eyes. That night, Domnall murdered his mother without a single hit of remorse, solidifying his place amongst the Death Eaters, and sending whispering rumors about his soullessness around the world.
