magical object descriptions
artifacts of immense power...
below are the descriptions of the available magical objects within this world. More can be added if a need for them arises.
A highly rare item woven from the hair of the Demiguise, an endangered species, it provides total invisibility to the wearer. Over time, it will fade to a more visible hue and is unable to be returned to its original state. The only remaining, non-fading Invisibility Cloak in existence is the only surviving Deathly Hallow, and it belongs to the Potter family.
This item is strictly overseen by the Ministry of Magic. It's a small, golden hourglass on a chain that, when spun carefully, allows the user to go back in time and literally be two places at once. The law is simple, but is taken incredibly seriously. Those who go back and mess with time can face serious consequences.
This dark artifact, made from the darkest of magic, can be any seemingly innocent object. It is created when the owner rips a piece of their soul apart by murdering a human in cold blood. The piece is then placed into the artifact. If the body of the owner is killed, the piece of the soul will live on, being able to be transferred into a new body. Horcruxes were outlawed by the Ministry of Magic centuries ago, making the possession of one (or multiple) illegal and punishable by life in Azkaban.
This object is a round stone basin filled with liquid. Memories can be taken and stored elsewhere, and this object allows the memories to be viewed by the user being immersed into the memory. No known living wizard has been able to create this ancient artifact in hundreds of years, making these extremely difficult to locate and possess.
These artifacts allow vampires to walk in the sun without risking their lives. They are incredibly expensive, though there is a wide black market for them. They will be rare, but perhaps not as rare as some of the other items.
