biography Sylvie Yvette Rousseau was born the youngest child and second daughter of Rose Marie and Pierre Rousseau on a windy June evening in Nice, France. While her father had been hoping for another boy, Rose Marie was ecstatic at the prospect of having another daughter. Eleven hours after Sylvie was born she displayed the first signs of her metamorphmagi, her hair turning a bright bubble gum pink to match the sheets of her bassinet. Sylvie followed in her maternal aunt and grandfather's footsteps. As a child Sylvie was known to change her hair into bright colors at the most inopportune moments just to see people's reactions. From even a young age, it was clear that Sylvie was meant for the arts. In primary school she would often struggle with sitting still and concentrating. When she was five years old Rose Marie put Sylvie in a beginning ballet class and, as they say, the rest is history. Sylvie found her calling in dance and quickly excelled, the outlet even allowing her to focus more in school. She began training at the Paris Opera Ballet School when she started at Beauxbatons, which allowed her to continue her education in ballet. At Beauxbatons Sylvie was sorted into Papillonlisse, where she met many other artists and truly began to flourish. Sylvie graduated from Beauxbatons somewhere near the middle of her class; though her marks were respectable, Sylvie had never been able to truly focus in the classroom or devote herself to academic pursuits. Sylvie was not the best student, and it showed in her marks. Though Sylvie struggled to find a position in her first years after Beauxbatons, Sylvie continued studying and training in ballet. Two years after graduation, however, Sylvie landed an audition with The Magician's Ballet of London. She was accepted as an apprentice and moved to London that fall. Being granted a position in one of the best magical ballets in the world only served to fan the flames of Sylvie's passion. In London Sylvie pushed herself harder and longer, working long hours and never letting herself slip. She rose to the rank of Corps de Ballet two years after beginning at the Magician's Ballet. In London Sylvie also found a new family; though she stayed in touch with her family back home in France, visiting often, the intense schedule of the ballet and her own schedule for training and exercising kept her too busy to travel to France too much. Sylvie found new friends in London and a new family with the ballet. The social butterfly that Sylvie was made it easy for her to make friends anywhere she went, though the competitive nature of ballet sometimes brought out the rougher side of the Frenchwoman. Sylvie enjoyed her time as a Corps de Ballet for the Magician's Ballet of London, though she as forever craving more. It took her four and a half years, but at last, Sylvie was promoted to Principle Dancer with the Magician's Ballet.
