biography As a product of the 17th century, modern society became confusing to Giovanni as he got older and grew up in it. His parents were an arranged marriage and while his childhood wasn't entirely normal—with his father being a powerful Sicilian mobster—he was mostly a happy child and enjoyed the wealth of his life for quite some time until his parents were killed in an explosion and he himself was near fatally injured in the same explosion that took his parents' lives just as he got his acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. However, he was spared by exceptional healing. His life was quite normal, he went through his years at school without very much fanfare, the same for his life even when he got married to a young Russian woman when he was twenty-six. His older brother Matteo took over the family business and he was happy with being a normal man with a family with a nothing but normal job as a professor of the arts. Alas, it seemed that Giovanni was not destined to be happy, for when he was thirty-three, he was attacked shortly after Matteo's wife was murdered by a rival mob. To avoid losing another person that he cared for, Gio's remaining family found a vampire to turn him in order to spare him the pain of dying under the condition that they would be Turned as well, not wanting to lead lives without him, or die before him. Giovanni now lives his life as Don Corleone of his family, estranged from his wife—who was turned, not wanting to leave him—and the prospect of children lost. He keeps mostly out of things involving the war and such, even if he has actually picked himself a side to be on and has aligned himself with the Children of the Moon.
